[at Yesprs tuesday tasting]
Pours lightly red-orange with a fine, creamy, yellowish head. Fine lacing. Aroma is light hoppy, some chocolate, good fat toffee. Super creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has soft port, vinious, light chocolate and a pleasant dose of hops. Super balance, and that chocolate note is truly wonderful.
Botella. Pours an unclear red-amber colour. Sweet malty aroma with dark fruits and some toffee. Good soft mouthfeel. The flavour is sweet with toasted malt, a bit of chocolate, some dark fruits, some port and a little alcohol. A good well balanced brew. Grovlam (4257) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - APR 29, 2008
Bottle. [Courtesy of Ungstrup, thanks buddy] Large creamy beige head that mostly lasted. Good display of lacework. Cloudy amber colour. Aroma of overripe fruit, toasted malt, lovely smooth grainy feel. Over the palate came mild bread, light vinous. A bit more complex in the aroma compared to the 2004. Full bodied with a soft carbonation and light alcoholic and thick texture. Moderated sweet and mild bitter flavour. Complex and fruity lingering finishes what was quit smooth and malty at the very end. Excellent. berkshirejohn (6812) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - MAR 1, 2008
Bottle #12201. Slightly cloudy reddish copper, with a beige head that faded almost immediately leaving some light carbonation; rich fruit cake aroma, with vine fruits, port and brandy; rich vinous sherry-like flavours, deep and warming but with a slightly rough edge, then becoming smoother with a caramel and toast body before a warming finish. This vintage seems to be past its best.

500 ml. brown bottle. Part of a vertical tasting held for my close friends.
Still awesome! 6 years old, and just hitting it’s stride. Tasty beer. Deep copper color, white head. Mostly malts in the flavors of this year’s batch, some hops in the background. It still needs a little aging though. Ughsmash (7502) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - NOV 16, 2007
Bottle thanks to Marsiblursi!! This beer was just exceptional! Poured a clear, deeper coppery-orange with a short cap of off-white head. The aroma picked up deep, toasted caramel, bready notes, toffee, and drier floral hoppage.. bit of an uptake on the back with more lovely dried floral notes.. soft, inviting, and well-aged. The flavor had slight sour oxidation notes and dark fruits upfront with mild floral and citrusy bitterness.. sweet candied caramel with more fruit across the middle and back-end, accented by light, but complimentary bitterness.. sweet and tasty! Sweet, medium-bodied, and well-balanced on the palate.. wish I had another! caesar (7455) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - OCT 28, 2007
Bottled. Slight hazy orange, short frothy head. Aroma of apricot, tea, roasted malt, toffee, caramel, molasses, slight hint of smoke. Malty taste, toffee, slight chocolat, slight alcohol burn. Reminds me of a Harvest Ale. Strong taste. skortila (6025) - Baarn, NETHERLANDS - OCT 28, 2007
Bottle @ jbrus’. Aroma is old dusty with tea, apricots, sugar and toffee malts. Hazy, orange coloured with an off-white head. Taste is sweet with some lingering smooth hopbitterness in the finish. It has a bit sticky sweetness and milky chocolate. Quite a nice Vintage ale. jerohen (2380) - Bussum, NETHERLANDS - OCT 28, 2007
Dutch Ratebeer Gathering. Sampled in 2007 (5 years old). Orange coloured, off-white head, chunks of yeast. Aged aroma, yeast, liquor, pretty strong. Vanilla notes with toffee and caramel, very nice malty flavour. Once and awhile some lactic notes shine through. Towards the end some sticky sweetness, liquorice and hops. Oily texture. Good, although i expected the age to shine through a bit more than it actually did. Thanks jbrus for sharing.
