Pours amber born with a medium-small head that dissipates quickly. Aroma of caramel and perhaps hint of hops. Taste is malty sweet, some fruityness, caramel and biscuits with a small hint of bitterness into the dry finish. Medium bodied and medium carbonation. Very fine beer, excellent strong taste.

Bottle. Medium rosewood amber with no head. Scent is medium english bitter with some wood resin. Taste is soft, mature, english ale with loads of resin, and a fairly mild malt profile. Some bitterness. Some cereal properties. A bit harsh. Finish is lax. Very good. Overrated.

16.9floz (500ml) bottle, BBD: 05.09.2016 (just a little aged...), $4, imperial glass. Pours out a dull copper-brown color with one finger of head. I do get a sense of fruit cake in the nose, buttery-caramel sweetbread with spices. Taste consists of semi-sweet toffee and a lightly burnt toast. The palate has lot vibrancy, but it is not damaged to be off putting. The body is medium-full with gentle carbonation. Tastes surprisingly decent despite the unwanted aging, from sitting a store shelf and then a box that appeared to destined for removal from inventory. I took a chance on this beer, because in my area Fuller's shipments have become sporadic and product offerings diminished. Sigh.

Deep brown color with nice beige head. Intense smell of toffee, caramel, sweet fruits. Taste of sweet caramel malts, dark fruits, toffee, salty licorice. Finishes with dry hops. Overall very delicious, one of the best from fuller´s

Výborné pivo po všech stránkách. Příjemná chuť, karamelové aroma, silnější říz a jemná pěna.

From Saveur Biere. In Teku glass. Watching Stranger Things 1x05. Really, and dangerously drinkable. Superb feel and a nice brown sugar and toffee profile in both nose and mouth, with strong bitterness at end

Bottle 500 ml from Waitrose. Aromas of burnt malts, caramel and "earth" (not sure how to describe this better). Leaves a big beige white head and a beautiful chestnut dark red body. Taste is bitter and creamy with burnt malts and notes of caramel. Leaves a pleasant, bitter aftertaste. Good autumn ale.
