The beer was 17 months past date. Dark amber color, no ruby hints. The aroma was malty, but perhaps a bit dusty. It’s heading towards Old Peculier, but lacks the plummy notes. Small bubbles bite; toasty malty finish. Nice level of hoppy bitterness. If memory serves, this is a bit smoother than some, so the extra months may have mellowed it somewhat. Spice notes arrived half through the glass. Always a pleasure. MiP (16083) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - JAN 13, 2007
Bottle, 6.3%. Dark brown colour, stable light brown head. Creamy mouthfeel. The flavour is quite malty and slightly peppery in a good balance. The bitterness gets a bit rough, but on the whole a very nice beer. Borup (16055) - Albertslund, DENMARK - JUL 2, 2008
