Bottle. Pours translucent dark amber brown with a small, quickly dissipating off white head. Aroma of light toffee, malt, caramel. Flavor is super malty, caramel and English toffee, pears with a twinge of alcohol. Finish heavy on the toffee, citrus, and light hop bitterness with stays around for awhile. Solid mouth feel with active carbonation; not harsh, but defiantly dances on the tongue if held too long. Surprisingly rich with all the maltiness, but bitter end throws me off. Less balanced and more, I dunno, schizophrenic, but not in an extreme way. Enjoyable, but less hop in the Finish would have really made this one a winter beer of choice. Still, this is a very fine beer.

Delicious. Tastes of toffee/caramel and dark fruits. Darkish amber in colour. Caramel on the nose.

Výborné pivo po všech stránkách. Příjemná chuť, karamelové aroma, silnější říz a jemná pěna.

From Saveur Biere. In Teku glass. Watching Stranger Things 1x05. Really, and dangerously drinkable. Superb feel and a nice brown sugar and toffee profile in both nose and mouth, with strong bitterness at end

Bottle 500 ml from Waitrose. Aromas of burnt malts, caramel and "earth" (not sure how to describe this better). Leaves a big beige white head and a beautiful chestnut dark red body. Taste is bitter and creamy with burnt malts and notes of caramel. Leaves a pleasant, bitter aftertaste. Good autumn ale.

De geur is heel vol en rijk. Een mooie schuimkraag. Er is wat van koffie in de smaak terug te vinden. Valt goed mee

Brunt øl med fint skum. Forholdsvis søt med mye karamell og korn. Også lette florale og fruktige preg. Mye bra, men litt skarp.

Bottle 50cl. @home poured into a teku glass. Clear deep amber, frothy off-white head, half-way lasting, good lacing; aroma toasted malts, cocoa, caramel, dark fruits; taste medium sweet and bitter, roasty, caramel, chocolate, touch of treacle; roasty sweetbitter aftertaste, light fruity and chocolate notes; medium body, oily texture, average carbonation; very nice, smooth and well-balanced.

UPDATED: NOV 8, 2017 Nice mix between sweet and dry. Lovely texture smooth going down. Very nice bottled conditioned strong ale. Doesn’t fall for the trap of being too sweet. Reveals further complexities. It’s really good actually. Perfectly balanced.
