Cask: Regular (but not permanent). Also available bottle conditioned (at 5.3%). Bengal Lancer is a traditional India Pale Ale, pale amber in colour, distinctively hoppy and highly refreshing. It’s notable for floral and spicy notes from the hops, and a finish of mild bitterness. A version of Bengal Lancer is brewed specifically for the export market, known simply as Fuller’s India Pale Ale.

0,5l bottle. Pours amber coloured with nice head. More of an English style ipa where the bitterness isn’t as long, but more malty. Nice spiciness in the aroma too, not that much fruits.

Bottle from Booths. Amber with a frothy cream head. Slightly floral citrus aroma a little reminiscent of washing up liquid. The taste has some spice with more soapy lemon citrus and an assertive botter finish. It’s been a while since I had a proper Birtish IPA, and I quite enjoyed this.

Pours cloudy orange amber with low white head. Aroma of citrus, caramel, light toffee. Taste is caramel sweet followed by a citrus bitter finish. Light and smooth body with average carbonation.

500ml bottle. Mostly clear golden colour with a two-three finger frothy white head. Aroma is quite mellow, some pale malt and some hops, citrus. Taste is malty, and surprisingly citrus, orange, grassy hops. Quite well balanced, bitter finish though fairly mild, moderate carbonation, a somewhat creamy mouthfeel. Pretty good for an English style IPA though.

Appearance Clear amber, with a white frothy head.
Aroma Typical English hop profile; earthy, herbal, marmalade, and faint citrus. Mellow malty aromas, with notes of plums and toffee.
Taste Mildly sweet, with a solid bitter backbone that complements the sweetness perfectly, making for a very well balanced beer - a rare occurrence when it comes to IPAs these days.
Palate Low carbonation, a filling, but not thick or slick, mouthfeel. Moderately long aftertaste.
