Touch hazy brown tawny colour. Nose is marmalade, sherry, citrous notes, sweet malty sugary. Taste is marmalade, touch of treacle, tangy fruit, but there’s a dry woodiness in this that isn’t all that great. Also dry on the finish. Not sure this is ageing very well. I love smoke beers. This one has a thick beige head and a red-orange color. Not so much smoke aroma as the german smoke beers but sweet citrus aroma. The taste also has some caramell and some fruit that is balanced by a litle tart bríttish hop bitterness. Much sweetness and big body. bax (1312) - Hasselager, Aarhus, DENMARK - JAN 20, 2012

Murky reddish brown colour with big creamy off-white head.
Mild sourness, caramel sweetness, woody whiskey and mild bitterness in aroma. Flavour is complex. Sweet caramel, whiskey, vanilla sweetness, mild malt and sugar in flavour. Mild bitterness in aftertaste. Alcohol also quite present but in good way.
Bottle from Superbest. Amber colour with a white head. Aroma and flavour of malt, whiskey, hops and spice. FatPhil (17078) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - NOV 19, 2011

Mellow sweet woody bitter aroma. A touch buttery. Gently hoppy bite. Lovely smooth palate, woody but sweet too. Classic aged fullers taste. Woody and malty, and so darn mellow. Not saying whisky so much, but there is a gentle warming vapour in the mouth. Great beer.
Rating from the soured cask at EBF2008 has been scrapped completely as it was not as the brewer intended.

Massively raisiny and cognacy. A bit thinner then when young, but it poured with a huge head, so clearly there’s been a lot of 2nd/3tiary fermentation. Some tobacco, dry, and walnut-papery. Perhaps not quite as good as fresh, but still very very tasty.
bottle... medium golden brown, bright toppe head, good retention... this is balanced but subtle, easy to drink, I like it renffisch (891) - london, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 30, 2011
Bottle at Caspars Vilntage Vertical. Dark hazy red colour, very fine light head. Musky leather nose with a hint of bitter butter. Smooth sweet vinegar taste and fluid mouthfeel. Not grand but ok. Leighton (22306) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 30, 2011
Bottle at Caspar’s Running Toilet Tasting. Pours clear, amber-red with a small, white head. Fruits, hard alcohol, mild caramel aroma. Quite sweet, lots of wood and whiskey, caramel, tangy fruit. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Warm finish, light dough, sugar, wood, caramel. Not bad.
