The aroma is a bit sour in a nice way. The colour is amber and it has a huge head. Flavor is very sour, which is very interesting. There is no trace of the oak!!

Fyldig i smagen og en rigtig god eftersmag. Måske lidt dyr, men så er den smagt.

500ml bottle I’d had hanging around for a while. Pours amber with a white head. Aroma of malt, orange and pepper. Sweet finish.

The foam is flashy, but decreases after a short time a sparse layer on top of the beautiful beer. The aroma is very delicate, but also very diverse. I can trace plum and apricot, but other noses can certainly get many more impressions. With a strong ale like this I think there are not very clear rules for how it should taste, so here Fuller ’s, Smith & Turner had the opportunity to apply their expertise in full, and it’s actually been a wonderful beer out of it. The taste is very rich and has a part acid probably from the oak cask. The aforementioned fruit that characterizes the very beginning, but little sugary sweetness carries it over into an easy taste of alcohol where caramel and clear whisky notes are present. I’m not sure of mine two years of storage was enough. However, I believe that it will mature even more over the years and become a little more round and soft. Unfortunately I have no more bottles than this. The finish is long, marked by whisky and only light hop. A delicate and tasty beer after two years of storage, but with large potential to be better if you have the patience.

500ml bottle. Pours dark brown with a thin head. Aroma is rich toffee, treacle, molasses and woody whisky. Taste is caramel and toffee to start with a light whisky finish.

UPDATED: AUG 16, 2015 Bottle from Web: Living Beer. Drank 2013-11-16: After 4 years, this is now a cloudy orange-brown beer with sweet orange blossom and vanilla flavours, oak and red fruity notes with a soapy and whisky finish. Drank 2015-08-16: after 7 years, this is now a cloudy brown beer with perfumed orange blossom and vanilla flavours, oak and red fruity notes with wet paper and a soapy and whisky finish. Past its best. Drank fresh: A dark amber beer with a sharp fruity, slightly spicy wine-like flavour. It has hints of vanilla in the warming powerful finish.

My rating # 1000! Sample from 50 cl. bottle, 2009 "Vintage", bottle # 06679. Deep amber colour with a golden tint, thin off-white head. Fruity aroma with rich caramel malts, toffee, lots of fruits, oak, vanilla and a touch of whisky. Taste is sweet. Medium to full body, creamy texture. Finishes sweet and fruity with rich fruits and malts. Very good. Has aged very well.

Aroma has oaky notes, toffee, some caramel, whisky and hints of alcohol. Flavour has whisky notes, oak, toffee, some caramel, hints of berries and alcohol. Matured well, too bad that this was my only bottle.
