3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pour was light ruby and copper in color with a short lasting head. Aroma was complex with with sweet oak, vinous characters, medium vanilla, and caramel biscuit notes. Carbonation was a bit high, so I decided to let mine degas just a bit. Once there, the flavors were superbly well blended and complex with oak and cognac, then moving towards the deep caramel and lightly toasted malt characters. The body of the beer is medium to light, but still sweet from the cognac and vanilla oak. Alcohol is well hidden in this brew, making it dangerously drinkable. I prefer this one over No. 1 for the better blend. I’m looking forward to No. 3.
Nro 28165. Maria (10211) - Thisted, DENMARK - JUN 27, 2016
Tasted June 27 2016. It is slightly hazy red-golden with a small, but creamy head. The aroma has notes of cellar, but also caramel, fruits, oak and more. The flavor is sweet with clear notes of oak, cognac, caramel, overripe fruit, cellar (it clearly should not be saved for much longer), and towards the end a slight alcohol burn accompanied by overripe fruits in the long finish. 0.5 bottle. Subtly hazy, crimson color and a small, off-white head. Marvelous aroma of malts, honey, wood, cognac, syrup, caramel, and a hint of fruits. Taste is very sweet, full of oak, malts, some cognac, hints of spices, again honey, and perhaps some molasses. Medium body, slick texture, and average carbonation. Finish is way too alcoholic, whether it’s the alcohol content or just the cognac aftertaste is hard to tell but the final effect is definitely bad. Overall a beer which starts off almost perfectly but then loses its balance and goes rough, moreover the carbonation is inadequate - fine for the first few sips but definitely not drinkable. joe19612 (3063) - camberley, Surrey, ENGLAND - MAY 8, 2015
Pours a clear brown colour with a thin white head, malty aroma with some fruit, the taste is light and not to bitter, with a dry finish. Erzengel (9446) - Wuppertal, GERMANY - APR 26, 2015
Toll!

(Backlog) Bottle. Brown pour with tan head. Some dark fruit, light woody and cognac aromas. Flavors of griot, cognac, woody and some just alcohol notes. Finishes with a bit of warmth. CanCrusher (1118) - Ilirska Bistrica, SLOVENIA - FEB 23, 2014
Bottle 0,50L. Clear amber colour with soft visible carbonation and creamy, light brown head. Aroma of sherry and orange, cask wood and cognac. Bitter moderate start taste turns into heavy bitter aftertaste with strong chocolate note and slightly notable alcohol. Say what you want, but this is perfection for me. And everything they wrote on the back label is true!
