COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewer’s Reserve No.3 has spent 800 days gently maturing in old Auchentoshan whisky barrels, the longest maturation period of any of the Brewer’s Reserve beers. The beer draws notes of vanilla, honey and spicy ginger from the whisky-soaked wood, combined with a rich malty body.

jeverszeuge (647) - GERMANY - JAN 21, 2012
12,13,13,14,15,13

UPDATED: JAN 22, 2012 Bottled from Bierkoning, Amsterdam. Orange-brown colored, off-white head. Malty, fruity, and whisky nose. Malty and alcoholic flavor, lots of wood. Whisky dominates, and makes the beer feel a little bit like a watered down version of a good whisky. Still, that’s pretty enjoyable.

jackl (8271) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JAN 20, 2012
Bottle. Deep semi-hazy light brown with a small white head. The nose is of vanilla, smoke, wood, alcohol, some dark fruit. The taste is much of the same, plenty of vanilla. Perhaps still a bit too hot. Wood a bit too much, but not as bad as most barrel-aged beers. The palate is medium, the carbonation light. Overall, much more appetizing than No. 2. Pretty good.

mile (4002) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JAN 6, 2012
Bottle. Amber, small to average and fully diminishing head. Moderate, malty and sweetish aroma, some caramel with vinous sourness, light vanilla-oak. Body is medium, malty and lightly sweetish flavor, light caramel and vinous sourness, light vanilla and some alcohol. Finish is average, malty and lightly sweetish, some caramel and light sourness with light vanilla, alcohol. Sweetish strong ale with light vanilla and sourness - bit too much alcohol considering the body.
