COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The fourth incarnation of Brewer’s Reserve spent a year in the Fuller’s cellar in rare Comte de Lauvia Armagnac casks from the Bas region of France. The beer is infused with brandy characteristics, with distinctive notes of vanilla, green apple and cinnamon, a solid malt base and velvety alcohol warmth.

Bottle from the brewery. Pours shiny copper with a creamy beige head. Aroma is floral, grapey and perhaps oaky. Nice, very nice, aroma. Med body. It’s very, very smooth. There’s a definite brandy character, heat in the tummy, mild roast malt and some floral. Extremely tasty. Brilliant ale.

Marstonlad (876) - Helsinki, FINLAND - APR 18, 2013
Bottle from Alko Arkadia, Helsinki. Pours clear reddish copper with a huge frothy head that diminishes slowly; a white layer stays on the surface. Pretty ideal appearance for a beer, in my opinion. Aroma has maltiness, dried British-style fruitiness and notes of berries and toffee, even some vanilla - nice but not as as strong as in strong Belgian ales. Taste is sweet but surprisingly has also sour elements. Some dry and bitter notes in the finish but hops are not what this ale is about. Maltiness and fruitiness are strong, flavours of caramel, vanilla, toffee, dried fruits, berries. Taste is both rich and complex - very nice! The palate is full bodied, sticky and smooth. This was an excellent beer, one of the best I’ve had from Fuller’s.

jookos (6743) - FINLAND - APR 11, 2013
Bottle. Dark copper clear. Fruity congac/brandy (armagnac, I presume) with oaky tones on nose. Herbal, almost mediacal hoppyness. Body is soft and full, a bit over carbonated IMO. Has hoppyness and soft malts. Very nice.

Bottle:Clear, reddish-amber coloured, big loose off-white head - pretty quickly collapsing, quite solid aromas of dried fruits, old wine, caramel and a touch of wood plus - maybe - smoke; moderate to solid sweet flavour, some bitterness detectable, full bodied; sweet vinous finish, with an alcoholic- brandy-like tart touch.
