Clear, dark brown beer with a foamy white head. Sweet on the nose: fruits, syrup, a hint of sherry... Sweetness comes first in the flavors. Caramel, sherry, wood. Dry yet sweet. Foamy mouth feel, a little like sparkling wine. Medium body. You can sense some alcoholic warmth. This one is a really good one. Balanced and original. Beautiful beer. blankboy (7808) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 20, 2013
Bottle [500ml]. No. 26712. Pours a deep orange-amber with a large lasting fluffy off-white head. Aroma of wood foremost followed by caramel malt, dark fruit, vinous notes, vanilla and alcohol. Flavour is malty and woody along with dark fruit, alcohol, brown sugar and vanilla. Dry, slightly alcoholic finish. Average to medium bodied. It didn’t knock my socks off but it’s pretty good.

Geruch süßlich-malzig, cognacartig. Antrunk süß, malzig. Mitte Holz, Fassnoten und Malz. Abgang recht streng holzartig mit leichter Likör- bzw. Alkoholnote. Trocken-bitterer und etwas unangenehmer Nachgang. Hätte mehr erwartet. bierkoning (13670) - La Tropica/Doarp, NETHERLANDS - AUG 4, 2013
Bottle. Deep amber color. Maltaroma with raisin, vanilla and vinous notes. Malty sweet flavor, alcoholiv with Armagnac and grapes. The signs of oak aging are loud and clearly present. Dry out effect in the aftertaste probstblueribbon (4088) - Nepean, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 3, 2013

App.: Clear mahogany with a full, rocky tan head.
Aroma: Rich raisins and other dark dried fruits, boozy, plenty of wood, strong caramel/treacle notes, somewhat earthy and woodsy, a little tangy/vinous, dark bread crust, a bit of hazelnut and Sherry (oxidation?).
Palate: Medium+ body, full, pillowy effervescence.
Flav.: Plenty of dark dried fruit, lots of booze, assertive Armagnac/cask/wood character, cherries, big yet thin maltiness, stings a bit, Sherry notes, interesting if a bit aggressive; dry with moderate bitterness and a long, boozy, wood cask and Sherry finish.
Certainly a sipper.
24/05 Another ogivlado’s Fuller’s, 0.5l, thanks for sharing! It poured almost clear brownish body with medium sized head. Decent hoppy aroma, herbal and papery with clearly separated alcoholic malty note. Slightly sour flavor, mostly fruity, malt is generally killed by alcoholic notes of barrel where it was aged, making it rather thin bodied with long warming finish. Also feels unbalanced and not particularly easy going, although showed some qualities, which proves this all could be done so much better. Oh Fuller’s...always fails with some fancy experiments. Yet, as I see here, people tend to appreciate it and actually prefer it over some wonderfully executed experiments by big (and less grand) names in craft beer world. Not bad as could sound, it still deserves 3.2 I gave it now. Borup (15318) - Albertslund, DENMARK - JUL 25, 2013

Bottle @ døe øl smagning, 17 / 7 2013. Dark orange, small white head, not a lot of lacing. Aroma, malty, toffee, armagnac, fruity. Taste, malty, armagnac alcohol, toffee. Leaves warming mouth feel. Maybe a bit too much carbonation. bax (1312) - Hasselager, Aarhus, DENMARK - JUL 17, 2013

Just put an average ale in a Armagnac cask and this is what you get. Very poor and heartless ’special’ beer. Typical commercial.
