Bottle at the Hung Drawn and Quartered, London, 20th October 2012 on The Thames Tipple, now well into London and running out of pubs fast, we were also in company of Ang A bit pricey at £7.75 a bottle however its a decent sized bottle so good for sharing and to be fair its a damn good beer. Loads of dark sugars, nice warmth from the alcohol, some sweet orange flavours and whilst I am not really knowledgeable about Armagnac I could tell that it’s influence could be felt. Thoroughly enjoyable beer, and proof that Fullers can really knock out some good stuff when they put their mind to it, however I actually don’t mind Fullers, I know they have their critics but I don’t mind them at all. 500ml bbEND2022 No15579, origins unknown, could be a HH gift...? Paired in discerning Bcompany to go with crisp goatcheese & apricot brick dessert. #4000 - Now if I’d known this goes for £100 at the source nowadays I might have kept it cellared & served a pedestrian KBS instead... - Smooth & svelte mahogani pour, deepbeige head. Lighthearted aroma=bouquet of vanilla, fresh red plums as in ruby port, apple brandy (Calvados) and poireau, subtle cognac whiffs, milk chocolate left behind by Mon Chéri. - Fruity with apple&pear in flavour, like a distilled essence (Poire Williams, Zibärtle), chocolate underneath spread thin like a vapour. Amazingly light and silky on the palate, ideal for dessert pairing. The cask character outgrows the beer, especially the malt base on repeated sipping - a delightful dessert share. dunklermessias (261) - GERMANY - MAY 5, 2017
500ml Bottle. Pours with a hazy, dark amber color and a small off-white head. The nose is quite nice: dried fruits, vanilla, toasted malts, woody, slightly liquor sweetness. the nose is getting sweeter and sweeter. Taste of wood finish from the cask, dry, toffee and caramel, dried fruits. Nice cognac/armagnac finish. Good one. Glad to have some in the cellar :-) DSG (14922) - Tel Aviv, ISRAEL - DEC 22, 2016

Garrafa nº 22653

Wine barrels, oak, wood, light and dry tartness, undefined dried fruits, maybe apple. Clear brown, massive frothy and lightly creamy, beige head. Light, dry sweet. Dry sweetness continues, wood, some cognac (or armagnac probably in this case), alcohol, more dry liquor, maybe some dry apple schnapps, toasted malts, lively carbonation. Very interesting ESA, very complex, great aroma and taste, not overly sweet, nice touch from the armagnac barrel ageing. Bottle from The Bottle Shop, Bermondsey. mice (981) - FINLAND - AUG 9, 2016
Punertavanruskea kirkas, todella vahvasti vaahtoava olut. Vaaleanbeige vaahto häviää kuitenkin kohtalaisen nopeasti suurimmalta osin ja pinnalle jää vain puolen sentin vaahtokerros. Tuoksussa havaittavissa heti armanjakkitynnyrin aikaansaannos. Nro 01012. maekchu (3953) - Hirakata, JAPAN - MAY 29, 2016
Bottle. Massive fruity nose, berries, light brown sugar, crushed flowers. Medium copper color. Moderate roasty initial, light sweet malt, sugary sweet, some good barrel notes, and it fades in finish. Medium body. Great nose, but the flavors, while pleasant, don’t quite match up. KyotoLefty (10375) - Kyoto, JAPAN - MAY 29, 2016
