Pasteurised bottle. Also available in keg for export only. The very occasional cask version is only available in the UK and has a separate listing.
Goldings hops and Golden Promise malt.
At 8.5% ABV, Golden Pride guarantees a superb range of flavours, that is sure to satisfy even the most discerning of palates. Our brewers describe Golden Pride thus: ’ deep amber in appearance, Golden Pride is full bodied, of moderate bitterness, moderately hopped and rich in malt. Full flavoured, and reminiscent of sweet orange oil, toasted grains, and bread. Rich malty aromas lead to a similarly styled palate, with an intense finish. Sweet and bitter flavours are expressed in good balance in this weighty brew.’ Or as the late Michael Jackson, beer writer and connoisseur, put it: ’the Cognac of beers’.

Sampled on draft at Pipers this beer poured a red-brown color with a large foamy orange-white head that lingered forever and left great lacing. The aroma was tart, fruity and bitter. The flavor was intensely boozy with yeast, golden fruits and tobacco. Very long finish of booze and golden fruits. Moderately full bodied. Disappointing.

Prakticky tady přidávám tento komentář, jen aby tady něco bylo, protože zpětně dopisuji 900 piv z mého seznamu a asi bych se musel u toho zbláznit.

Nice English ale, it resembles barley wines very closely, but this of course against the sore feelings of the connaisseur. Very sweet and a high note of raisin and caramel.

Bottle from Damian. Aroma of malt, honey and caramel. Dark amber colour with small head. Rich taste of honey, caramel, hops, rather sweet, long sweet finish. Good ale.

From notes. Pours a gold from a tap, thick white fluffy head. Diacetyl aroma doesn't show up in the flavor, otherwise thick and malty. Okay beer.

Bottle at London's Pride, Heathrow. Clear amber color with a small white head. Aroma is Crystal malt city, deep caramel and toffee notes, some orange peel. Flavor is very sweet, crystal up the wazoo, minimal bitter to balance. Medium full feel, syrupy, low carbonation. Barleywine is obviously life, but is this life? Hard to say. Michael Jackson called this the "cognac of beers". In his words, this beer isn't "bad" but it's not really a "thriller" and I wouldn't exactly say "you rock my world" or "beat it" to this beer, so it seems like it's probably life, but the issue isn't "black or white".
