COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pasteurised bottle. Also available in keg for export only. The very occasional cask version is only available in the UK and has a separate listing.
Goldings hops and Golden Promise malt.
At 8.5% ABV, Golden Pride guarantees a superb range of flavours, that is sure to satisfy even the most discerning of palates. Our brewers describe Golden Pride thus: ’ deep amber in appearance, Golden Pride is full bodied, of moderate bitterness, moderately hopped and rich in malt. Full flavoured, and reminiscent of sweet orange oil, toasted grains, and bread. Rich malty aromas lead to a similarly styled palate, with an intense finish. Sweet and bitter flavours are expressed in good balance in this weighty brew.’ Or as the late Michael Jackson, beer writer and connoisseur, put it: ’the Cognac of beers’.

Alebarasi (186) - Dobrova, SLOVENIA - AUG 29, 2017
Clear dark copper color with 2-finger high off-white head. Full syrupy body, soft carbonation. Smell of dark fruits, caramel, molasses, cognac, port wine, honey, berries, plums, banana and herbs. Taste is malty and bittersweet with aromas, similar to smell - caramel, resins, toffee, sugary and barley wine notes upfront. Gentle alcohol warmth in the end. Excellent!

GhostS (560) - Chisinau, MOLDOVA - JUN 12, 2017

kraddel (9419) - Antwerp, BELGIUM - JUN 10, 2017
Blind tasting with Dr. Beer, served in black glassware. Smell is bit of esthers ( mild ) bit of overripe fruits. Some biscuit malts, some alcohol notes as well. Mild peppery notes. Taste is full, mild bitter, creamy, some yeast flavors, bready / biscuity malts, some very minor caramel. Medium MF, OK carbo.

huineman (740) - Madrid, SPAIN - JUN 3, 2017
50 cl bottle served in Fuller’s shaker at Mad Bishop and Bear, Paddington station concourse. Pours clean dark copper orange to ruby red, tan long-lasting head (quite unusual for an English ale). Aroma is intense: rip banana, red berries, clove, cinnamon. Mouth is powerful, wide, sweet’n’sour. Fast it goes down the throat, even though it lasts quite long afterwards. Nice, though somewhat cloying.

victorsampson96 (176) - Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, ENGLAND - MAY 28, 2017
(500 ml bottle) Pours a clear deep ruby-mahogany beer, with fine steady carbonation, and a creamy off-white head. The aroma is malty, and full of fruit, with a delicate touch of English hops. Notes include: toffee, caramel, biscuit, spices, raisins, overripe plum, apricot kernel, elder flower, mineral water and oak. It tastes bittersweet, with a silky-smooth mouthfeel. On the palate, the beer develops vinous qualities, and is reminiscent of brandy. Considering the sheer quality of beer, and idiom in which it is brewed, this is a great example of English Strong Ale. It’s beautifully blended, and you simply wouldn’t think this is an 8.5% beer.

3.4
Mister_Li (1654) - GERMANY - MAY 23, 2017
Klares Kupferrot mit durchschnittlicher Schaumkrone. Malzig, süßlich, etwas Honig, Karamell, Nüsse, leicht fruchtig, Waldbeeren, sehr süffig.

AntonyWilson (517) - Johannesburg, SOUTH AFRICA - MAY 18, 2017
330ml Bottle: Pours a slightly hazy amber with thin off-white head. Aromas of caramel and stone fruit. Beer finishes sweet with caramel notes. Not overly bitter with slight alcohol warmth. Full bodied, medium to low carbonation. Overall the beer has nice flavours that would go well with a hearty meal.
