Deep golden-orange colour, pours with little head. Alcohol and butterscotch aroma and a flavour to match. Overall this beer was not incredibly complex and was fairly uninteresting. There are better strong ales on which to spend your money. duff (5486) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JAN 9, 2002
I agree with person who said it was too strong for its own good, i also sample this at the brewery and wasn't totally impressed, lacked a bit of balance or something. rauchbier (3949) - Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - DEC 11, 2001
Excellent aromas of malt and hop resins which lasts all through the beer and for some time afterwards. Head soon goes but colour is nice.Great beer for finishing the night off. Richard73 (37) - St Albans, ENGLAND - DEC 6, 2001

I bought a bottle of this at the brewery. It went in the fridge as soon as I got back to the states. It sat there for about 4 months, waiting for a special occasion. When I finally opened it, the beer was badly oxidized. It had the balance of a good, big beer. But it was too far gone to really tell what it could have been.
