RIch ruddy brown, thin head. Strong apple aroma, says strong ale. Tastes very bitter and richly roasted - almost burnt. Finish is long and woody. A little alcoholic alas. yngwie (17284) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - JUL 7, 2010
Bottle. It’s a clear, copper colored beer topped by a diminishing finger-thick beige head. Alcohol, syrupy sweetness, dried apricots and caramel on the nose, rather pleasant. The same goes for the flavor, which is sweet and sugary, with caramel, dried apricots, fresh fruits and a balancing bitterness. Some alcohol too, full-bodied and next to sticky on the palate. Warming, sweet and pleasantly bitter finish. Nice. 100213 Benzai (16920) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - APR 13, 2012
50cl bottle shared with Dutchdrebus and Ansjelaah. Slightly unclear amber color, medium sized off-white head. Smell malts and lightly caramel. Taste malts, caramel, slightly hops, some bitter. Soft carbo, medium body. Dedollewaitor (16544) - Odense, DENMARK - MAR 26, 2007
Fine clear amber with off white creamy head. Malty caramel aroma. Sweet malty & dried dark fruits. Easy hop end. Very well balanced! Nice! Scopey (16264) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 17, 2013
Bottle from Sainsbury’s. It pours clear deep amber with a small off-white head. The nose is wood, toast, toffee, stewed orange, hot cross bun, raisin and date. The taste is sweet, toffee, raisin, toasted malt, wood, orange peel, earth, light spice, varnish and warming alcohol with a dry, earthy finish. Full body, fine carbonation and oily mouth-feel. Rich, warming and good depth of flavour, yet remains rather drinkable. Good stuff.

Bottle at ÅBF08. Clear dark amber colour. Sweet flavour. Very malty with some alcohol. Not as interesting as hoped. bhensonb (15967) - Woodland, California, USA - JUN 24, 2006
Fruity, malty aroma. Dried fruit. Purple fruit. Deep coppery amber color. Head disipated quickly. Flavor is alcohol, malt, American port, and fruit. Hops persist to the finish, but then the malt remains strong. It’s really nice. It’s confusing. It suddenly occurs to me that there is a sort of roughness, similar to Fullers 1845. Maybe this is 1845 on steroids. Hope it gets shipped to the states. And why is this denominated "Golden"? Borup (15943) - Albertslund, DENMARK - FEB 1, 2008
