Aroma of red berries, probably some other fruit too. Full feel in the mouth. Complex hoppy bitterness. Caramel. Sdaniel90 (1080) - Mexico City, MEXICO - SEP 14, 2012
Bottle, 500ml. Pours a clear copper colour with a modest head that fades quickly. Aroma is of sweet malts and dry fruits, strong and intense. Taste is heavy and complex, very drinkable with lots of character. Great, strong finish. One of Fuller’s best. JFURYCAT (1078) - East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 8, 2007
Nice body with a flavor of fruity orange-like hops mixed well with sweet malts and barley. Well done. Unde (1077) - Helsinki, FINLAND - OCT 6, 2013
Bronze coloured ale with small head. Caramel malts, some bitter cherry and some toffee sweetness. Caramel, toffee, some ripe fruits and mainly sweet flavors. Some bitterness at the end. Rich texture and enjoyable Strong Ale. CanCrusher (1073) - Ilirska Bistrica, SLOVENIA - DEC 2, 2012
Bottle. Pours clear deep amber colour, with small light brown head. Rich and intensive sweety aroma of orange, peach, ananas, caramel. Full bodied ale, lightly sweet at the start, but then turns into a bitter aftertaste. You can feel the taste of smoke and cask wood in the mouth. There is also a sign of alcohol in the background. Very nice balanced beer.

Van de tap in de klep, ABT bier van de maand. Helder roodbruin bier. Ruikt wat zurig en moutig. Smaakt idem. Medium body. De 8,5 procent alcohol valt niet op. Niet zo mijn smaak. austone (1062) - Turku; Pori, FINLAND - MAY 28, 2009
Bottled. Dark amber, firm beige head. Plain sweet toffee aroma, hint of hops, vanilla and warming alcohol. Flavor has sweetish toffee, little berries and banana fruitiness, alcohol shows even more, solid hops in the sugary finish. Medium to full bodied, a bit sticky lush palate. Utterly simple, but still pleasing enough strong ale. Fukito (1059) - Santiago, CHILE - MAR 5, 2008
Bottle, november 07. Clear copper color with some light orange hues and a thick, creamy, beige head. Nice sherry, plums, cake, fruity aroma. Fruity alcoholic flavor, some fruit cake, toffee notes. Nice and tasty. Quite drinkable for such a strong beer. Medium to full mouthfeel, thick but moreish. A bit rough and with a short aftertaste but enjoyable nonetheless. Rich, warming and enjoyable barley wine. thellgren (1058) - Helsinki, FINLAND - OCT 3, 2015
0.5 l bottle from Alko. Dark amber colour, almost no head. Taste has some bitterness, butterscotch, drid fruits. All in all a complicated balance between sweet and sour. Slayer85 (1051) - Firenze, ITALY - MAR 11, 2007
50 cl bottle. A beautiful red/amber beer with a small beige head. Malty nose, with vinous and fruity notes. The flavour is caramelly and malty. Full body and the finish is bitter. Balanced beer. A nice ale.
