COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pasteurised bottle. Also available in keg for export only. The very occasional cask version is only available in the UK and has a separate listing.
Goldings hops and Golden Promise malt.
At 8.5% ABV, Golden Pride guarantees a superb range of flavours, that is sure to satisfy even the most discerning of palates. Our brewers describe Golden Pride thus: í deep amber in appearance, Golden Pride is full bodied, of moderate bitterness, moderately hopped and rich in malt. Full flavoured, and reminiscent of sweet orange oil, toasted grains, and bread. Rich malty aromas lead to a similarly styled palate, with an intense finish. Sweet and bitter flavours are expressed in good balance in this weighty brew.í Or as the late Michael Jackson, beer writer and connoisseur, put it: íthe Cognac of beersí.

Mooi rood-bruin bier. Wist niet wat ik hier van moest verwachten, behalve de goede rating op RB. Het is een heerlijk bier, niet heel uitgesproken van smaak, maar precies lekker: caramel, zoetig, hoppig, gedroogd fruit. Onverwacht lekker!

Deep amber colour and white head. Caramelly malts, nuts and toffee in the aroma. Same goes with the taste which has also alcohol in the aftertaste. Tasty but not very easy to drink because of the alcoholic taste.

Bottle
Almost no head retention. Dark golden/amber colour. Red wine and butterscotch aroma. Full bodied, dark fruits, slightly oxidised and lots of caramell. Plus a bit of alcohol taste. Bitter aftertaste with raisins and figs.

WIll always conside this a Barley Wine as has been said on the Fullerís website and as defines so by Michael Jackson. Forms a very easy head and has a clean intense sparkling orangy glow similar to Remy Martin VSOP. Constant head, nutty nose not unlike honey roasted cashews. Chewy with a good deepish bitter end. Once swallowed the long aftertyaste suggests a warming strong tasblet/caramel quality which is heavy but subtle. Very fine.

UPDATED: MAY 14, 2009 Tonnes of aroma. A dark redish brown nectar of pure gold and flavors in a next to perfect mix. It has strength, roundness, maltyness, freshness and just about everything one could wish of a really great beer.

Bottle. Pours beautiful golden copper with an off white head that leaves lots of lacing. Nose is very mild but you can detect notes of toffee, brown sugar and a hint of whisky. Flavour is quite similar to the aroma with aded malt, butter, honey and a little woodiness. Mouthfeel is very smooth and creamy and those are excellent words to describe this beer, as well as outstanding, beautiful and delicious.

0.5 l bottle from Alko. Dark amber colour, almost no head. Taste has some bitterness, butterscotch, drid fruits. All in all a complicated balance between sweet and sour.

Bottle - amber with a foamy light brown head. Aroma of sherry, chocolate and roast malt. Taste of chocolatey malt, a little toasty, some dark fruits, sherry and fruit cake. A little alcohol works its way in but its not really unwelcomed. Medium body, low carbonation, nice and warming. Really nice beer for winter.
