COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pasteurised bottle. Also available in keg for export only. The very occasional cask version is only available in the UK and has a separate listing.
Goldings hops and Golden Promise malt.
At 8.5% ABV, Golden Pride guarantees a superb range of flavours, that is sure to satisfy even the most discerning of palates. Our brewers describe Golden Pride thus: ’ deep amber in appearance, Golden Pride is full bodied, of moderate bitterness, moderately hopped and rich in malt. Full flavoured, and reminiscent of sweet orange oil, toasted grains, and bread. Rich malty aromas lead to a similarly styled palate, with an intense finish. Sweet and bitter flavours are expressed in good balance in this weighty brew.’ Or as the late Michael Jackson, beer writer and connoisseur, put it: ’the Cognac of beers’.

Bottle. Pours beautiful golden copper with an off white head that leaves lots of lacing. Nose is very mild but you can detect notes of toffee, brown sugar and a hint of whisky. Flavour is quite similar to the aroma with aded malt, butter, honey and a little woodiness. Mouthfeel is very smooth and creamy and those are excellent words to describe this beer, as well as outstanding, beautiful and delicious.

Bottle - amber with a foamy light brown head. Aroma of sherry, chocolate and roast malt. Taste of chocolatey malt, a little toasty, some dark fruits, sherry and fruit cake. A little alcohol works its way in but its not really unwelcomed. Medium body, low carbonation, nice and warming. Really nice beer for winter.

UPDATED: AUG 25, 2015 Copper colour with a whitish head. Good aromas of malt and dried fruit. The taste is very rich and complex - toasted malts, dried fruit, figs and marmalade all combine to give a really satisfying flavour. Very good mouth feel. This is a really lovely, subtle well-made beer. Another good one from Fuller’s, and great for Christmas drinking. Just re-read my old review, and I don’t want to change a word. This beer is still a classic. As Michael Jackson said ’The cognac of beers’.

UPDATED: APR 5, 2014 Pours reddish amber with a very little head. Aroma features most sweetish dark fruitiness with dried fruity notes, especially raisin. Also berries and maltier elements, such as caramel, bread and toffee, are around. Taste is light sweet, initially very fruity, later maltier. The finish is moderately hoppy, dryish and light bitter - very British. The palate is medium to full bodied, mouthfeel slick and smooth. Alcohol is hidden well. Could offer more in terms of hoppy notes, but still a nice, well balanced winter warmer.

Beautiful deep amber colour and a nice clinging head. Extremely malty (toffee) and vinuous with a very warming alcohol presence. Excellent for a cold winter evening. Lacking the complexity and woodlike touch of the Vintage Ales, but still a great beer.

Pours clear, dark amber. Minimal head. Aroma is vinous, a little bit of caramel and alcohol too. Smooth, warming, nice carbonation. Taste is caramel, then herbal biterness. Nice!

Bottle.50cl. Nice english bitter, with a small hint of diacityl and that gives the beer a good sweetness to the bitter notes of the beer.

Backlog. Bottle from Systembolaget. Fuller’s always delivers good quality traditional english-style beers.

Bottled. Dark amber. Syrup and dried fruit aroma. Alcoholic flavor with tones of almonds, molasses and syrup. Dry finish. According to the brewery this is the filtered and pasteurised version of the Vintage Ale.
