COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pasteurised bottle. Also available in keg for export only. The very occasional cask version is only available in the UK and has a separate listing.
Goldings hops and Golden Promise malt.
At 8.5% ABV, Golden Pride guarantees a superb range of flavours, that is sure to satisfy even the most discerning of palates. Our brewers describe Golden Pride thus: ’ deep amber in appearance, Golden Pride is full bodied, of moderate bitterness, moderately hopped and rich in malt. Full flavoured, and reminiscent of sweet orange oil, toasted grains, and bread. Rich malty aromas lead to a similarly styled palate, with an intense finish. Sweet and bitter flavours are expressed in good balance in this weighty brew.’ Or as the late Michael Jackson, beer writer and connoisseur, put it: ’the Cognac of beers’.

Fine appearance, amber and a big lacing head. Lots of sweetness in the aroma, and in the start of the flavor. The flavor finish with a bitterness. Overall a beer that really has aroma and flavor to the full.

UPDATED: JUL 10, 2004 Bottled. Sampled at Stockholm Beer Festival. A nice Barley Wine. Pale amber. Rich sweetish malty aroma and flavour. Notes of dried fruits, orange and perhaps rasin with a warming alcohol feel. Finishes with quite som bitterness, pleasant indeed.

Deep rusty copper hue with a creamy off white head. Fruity, toffee nose. Sweetish toffee like taste with fruit and raisins. Very barley wine like, well balanced. A decent ale just a bit sweet for a session.

Bottle, Fullers Brewery, Chiswick 2004: Medium foamy head on the amber colored brew. Nice intense hoppy flavor, honey, long dry hoppy finish. I like it quite a bit.

meaty malts and caramel aromas flow from out of this dark ambered beer...alcohol, paint thinner, caramel candies...very smooth but alcoholic..like a malty dessert, but lacking real bite. tasty though, no doubt.

Bottle
Almost no head retention. Dark golden/amber colour. Red wine and butterscotch aroma. Full bodied, dark fruits, slightly oxidised and lots of caramell. Plus a bit of alcohol taste. Bitter aftertaste with raisins and figs.

Pours bright amber, Nose: woody, earthy with gentle sweetness behind. Very British in style. Alcohol is there thats for sure, roasted malts behind, good bitter feel somewhere between.

Amber color, low head. Caramel nose and initial flavor, fruity with some hint of cherry, light roasted malt. Tinge of hop bitter at the end, though more sweet than bitter overall. Medium body and a very good balance. Nice one.

UPDATED: FEB 13, 2006 This was an immensely complicate beer, when i opened it, it the aroma was like a tin of baked beans, this left slowly like the head and left a beer unlike any i have had to date, sweet like a barley wine, but malt in there, yet not burnt, and then at the finish when u think thats it, the hops the brilliant hops really great, i should rate this higher if i hadnt smelt the beans, but alroun great great beer. Try it, one of the best british iv had anyway.

Bottled. Dark amber colour, big foamy white head. Toffee, malts and hops in aroma. Plummy, sweet toffeeish flavour with hints of sweet berries. Quite barley wineish beer. Strong bitterish hoppy aftertaste. Wellbalanced and pleasant!
