UPDATED: NOV 18, 2014 I tasted this a few months after "Fullers Past Masters XX Strong Ale" - still the same joy. Iím beginning to feel that English strong ales or strong ales as a whole is worth attention, my attention, it this case after IPAs. Very fruity, sweet, dense (if dense goes under taste tab :) )taste, very aromatic with an exact amount of bitterness. Really enjoyed it. As a bonus comes those rocket earth-sky launching 8.5% degrees :)

Beautiful and dangerously delicious brew. A bit more caramel flavor and body/alco - and it would be a barleywine. Gentle hopping level with enought malt sweetness to allow yeast produced fruity esters to shine. Pleasant, sweet, light caramel, candy like aroma with semisweet taste pattern. No long lasting aftertaste, a bit alcohol comes out at the end but mild sweetness and gentle, velvety texture is not suposed to be sipping brew, drinkability level- medium to high. Clear, more ambery than coppery in color, small, beige frothy top. Liked.
Bottle 50 cl. Pours clear amber in color with an whitish head. Red berries, alcohol and sweetness in aroma. A bit dry mouthfeel. Was afraid that the alcohol would be coming through in taste, but instead the flavor is overtaken by toffee, some mild berries and grains, which is nice. Sweet finish.

Keg. Dark copper colour, thin creamy head. Intense dryfruiry nose, estery yeast, alcohol, some herbal hop notes. Nice buscuity/caramelly maltiness. Medium sweet, intensly dryfruity taste but not very sweet. Quite alcoholic. Raisiny finish with slightly woody bitterness. Almost full bodied, slightly oily maltiness, some sticky bitterness and alcoholic warmth. Rather nice but too alcoholic. vipinvelp (4383) - Velp, NETHERLANDS - JAN 24, 2013
Clear darker amber with quickly dissapearing off-white foam head. Aroma is a pleasure mixture of barley, alcohol and hop. Taste is bittersweet, bitter dominating. Also flower and grassy notes, nice balance, good beer. (Velp 201301) ThirstyBird (2918) - Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - JAN 26, 2013
Pours a dark brown/orange with nice tan head. Smell is rich, dark fruit, caramel, citrus, sherry. Taste is mix of honey sweetness and hops up front. Along with that I get fruit, caramel, alcohol with a dry finish. A little sticky with medium/full body with nice soft carbonation. A decent beer that that is a touch sweet but otherwise drinks nicely. stravale (3055) - Near Carrick-on-Shannon, IRELAND - JAN 31, 2013
UPDATED: FEB 1, 2013 Bottle from Waitrose Morningside
Dark orange amber, clear, frothy slight off white head, good colour
Aroma - Soft caramel malt, some alcohol, dab of brandy, touch of sweet fruity raisin, soft sweet fruity boozy toffee, good aroma
Taste as aroma, very close to aroma, soft sweet fruity caramel malts, warming alcohol, touch of sweet sherry, some brandy, bit vinous, some esters in there. Soft, subtle, fairly complex, alcohol not hidden but ok with this beer
Palate - soft carb, medium body, quite oily. Palate - warming alcohol but this works with the soft sweet flavours. Finish of smooth sweet fruity malts, some drying warming alcohol
Overall - This was better than expected. Its a decent barley wine. Not a fan of a boozy aroma/flavour, but this seemed to be fine with this beer. artyom (1103) - Osijek, CROATIA - MAR 16, 2013
0,5l bottle. Red color. Aroma is caramel, toffee and some fruits. Taste is hops, toffee, caramel and fruits. It has slightly alcohol note. Medium bitterness.
