The absolute best beer that I have ever tasted. Not the most complex beer ever, but sometimes simple pleasures are spoiled by complexity. The taste is heavenly. Anyone lucky enough to sample this in England, will experience what I feel is the epitome of English Strong Ale. Paid a pound 75 at a Sainsbury's on vacation.
Nice English ale, it resembles barley wines very closely, but this of course against the sore feelings of the connaisseur. Very sweet and a high note of raisin and caramel. si_law (32) - - DEC 4, 2017

Bottle from Damian. Aroma of malt, honey and caramel. Dark amber colour with small head. Rich taste of honey, caramel, hops, rather sweet, long sweet finish. Good ale. Quick3Beers (1509) - East Falmouth, Massachusetts, USA - NOV 11, 2017
From notes. Pours a gold from a tap, thick white fluffy head. Diacetyl aroma doesn't show up in the flavor, otherwise thick and malty. Okay beer.

Bottle at London's Pride, Heathrow. Clear amber color with a small white head. Aroma is Crystal malt city, deep caramel and toffee notes, some orange peel. Flavor is very sweet, crystal up the wazoo, minimal bitter to balance. Medium full feel, syrupy, low carbonation. Barleywine is obviously life, but is this life? Hard to say. Michael Jackson called this the "cognac of beers". In his words, this beer isn't "bad" but it's not really a "thriller" and I wouldn't exactly say "you rock my world" or "beat it" to this beer, so it seems like it's probably life, but the issue isn't "black or white". peponi (2103) - Strzelce Wielkie, POLAND - OCT 19, 2017

De geur is lekker vol. De mooi donker. De smaak is zoals een donkere leffe. Niet slecht, maar niets speciaals. rboozer (20) - - SEP 5, 2017
