COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pasteurised bottle. Also available in keg for export only. The very occasional cask version is only available in the UK and has a separate listing.
Goldings hops and Golden Promise malt.
At 8.5% ABV, Golden Pride guarantees a superb range of flavours, that is sure to satisfy even the most discerning of palates. Our brewers describe Golden Pride thus: í deep amber in appearance, Golden Pride is full bodied, of moderate bitterness, moderately hopped and rich in malt. Full flavoured, and reminiscent of sweet orange oil, toasted grains, and bread. Rich malty aromas lead to a similarly styled palate, with an intense finish. Sweet and bitter flavours are expressed in good balance in this weighty brew.í Or as the late Michael Jackson, beer writer and connoisseur, put it: íthe Cognac of beersí.

(500 ml bottle) Pours a clear deep ruby-mahogany beer, with fine steady carbonation, and a creamy off-white head. The aroma is malty, and full of fruit, with a delicate touch of English hops. Notes include: toffee, caramel, biscuit, spices, raisins, overripe plum, apricot kernel, elder flower, mineral water and oak. It tastes bittersweet, with a silky-smooth mouthfeel. On the palate, the beer develops vinous qualities, and is reminiscent of brandy. Considering the sheer quality of beer, and idiom in which it is brewed, this is a great example of English Strong Ale. Itís beautifully blended, and you simply wouldnít think this is an 8.5% beer.

330ml Bottle: Pours a slightly hazy amber with thin off-white head. Aromas of caramel and stone fruit. Beer finishes sweet with caramel notes. Not overly bitter with slight alcohol warmth. Full bodied, medium to low carbonation. Overall the beer has nice flavours that would go well with a hearty meal.

I can understand why this has the word "pride" in the name as there are, to me, definite echoes of London Pride in this beer. A rich golden, hoppy and quite malty beer with a strong flavour of alcohol. Itís in no way sessionable and although it is nice to try I will not be revisiting.

Bottle at home. Pours light brown with pleasent white head, which dissipates rather quickly. Tastes like light caramel, toffee, slight wooden barrel taste with nice astringency. Medium carbonation. Very good english ale.

Pours with a good dense, guinness-like, white foam. Color is very pretty clear, bright dark copper. Aroma has typical strong ale flavours such as a general maltiness and "mango chutney" like aroma. Additionally some port wine, honey, caramel and sweet malts. The aroma is very fine and "luxurious". Palate is pretty nice. Thereís oiliness, but itís not overwhelming, but balanced. Taste has sweet malt and surely itís "strong ale". Additionally some (slightly burnt) caramel and cognac like aromas. Itís tasty and the 8.5% alc vol gives it a solid body thatís not weak. Itís one of the best ales Iíve had and this is actually an ale that I find pleasing (I usually donít like ales that much).

330ml bottle. Deep red colour with minimal off white head. Fruity aroma with a touch of caramel malt. Medium-high sweetness, low bitterness. Full bodied, fairly sticky texture, smooth finish. Alcohol is quite present, but doesnít bludgeon you. Not tasting this in winter, but it has the feel of a winter warmer. A very satisfying brew.

W smaku růwnież bardzo wyraźne nuty słodowe, skůrka od chleba, pumpernikiel, słody prażone. Goryczka średnia, Bardzo dobre.
