Bottle @ Fox and hounds, Sønderborg. Black body with a fine but small beige head, looks really good. Aroma is gentle, smooth roasted dark malt, dark chocolate, tofu, leather, vanilla, mild smoke, hint of peat, dark fruit and warming alcohol. This is the kind of beer with such complexity in aroma I feel for just swirling and sniffing in several minutes. Flavor lives up to the big expectations, this is incredible smooth, complex and big, but nothing feels like an exaggeration here. Everything feels like it done in a gentle British tradition, no American boldness here. Same as the aroma the flavor has this wonderful smooth, soft nice roasted dark malt, dark chocolate, some peat, wood, leather, vanilla and perfect balanced bitterness. Black pours with creamy, light tan head. Light maly aroma, with some chocolate and cherries. Medium, hoppy bitter taste, little bit of roasted malts and plenty of chocolate flavours. Also has a light floral/herbal aftertaste. Super creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation, medium body. Really nice, full flavoured imperial stout. 2016 catch up - Bottle at home - Very tasty with a slight sweetness from the rose buds. Fantastic mouthfeel from the piles of burnt malt. The drinakability is fantastic and a re-taste is definitely in order.

Boxed 500ml bb2023, paired with heated BBC Question Time Brexit discussions... - Dark plummahogani pour, crema. Extremely savoury, umami-meaty, near horsemeaty aroma over the dark malts candy chocolate beans...very slowly opens up to Turkish lokum, cured furniture, burnt carame, brandyish fumes but no Belgian-style phenols or esters. Bit of a burn in the flavours as well, mainly abv-powered. Silky mouthfeel, chocolate powder, indeterminate candy and again those beef jerky meats among the Mon Chérie and liquorice root... Totalmente negra, turva, espuma marrom de boa formação e persistência. Aroma em ordem de intensidade: álcool, café, framboesa/cereja, toffe, amadeirado, complexa. Paladar de médio amargor torrado, médio dulçor caramelado. Corpo licoroso e baixa carbonatação. Final de longa persistência, trás um defumado leve, mantém o café sem esconder o álcool.
