This limited edition brew is a unique collaboration between brewery and beer writer. Melissa Cole brought her vast experience to the tasting table and helped us deliver a stout worth writing home about.

Brewed in the traditional style that became a favourite royal court, this limited edition Imperial Stout has been specially created as a single brew. In a unique addition to the historic recipe, the floral character of the Centennial hops is enhanced by the inclusion of rose buds, lending a hint of Turkish delight flavour to the beer. This Imperial Stout has a rich, dark appearance with strong chocolate and deep cherry notes which lead to a lighter, bitter finish.

Sådan skal en stout smage! Uhm.

Breja bem cara.

Bottle. Pours pitch jet black with a mostly lasting foamy coffee brown head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, dark fruits, smokey, oats, liquorice. Taste is of coffee, dark chocolate, black currant, dark fruits, fig, liquorice. Sticky syrupy mouthfeel, medium carbonation. Very nice after roughly one year.

I have stored this for a year now. Let’s see if by memory somethings changed/stayed the same. Almost black, nice thick lacing, aromas of centennial, sour celery, roast, dark grapes. Well, the taste, it’s still thick bodied, slightly quadruple styled sour and actually not as roasted ashy stout as you’d expect. Centennial hops giving here a backing for slight sour quadruple ways of imperial stout. It sparks and then sours and then mellows, spices, sends sparks of bitter in throat. Probably has some rose buds or even thorns for taste. Is mainly some roasted hops burgundy rose bud stout. What this offers is England style elegance, because apart from a normal high octane IS, it’s not intrusive. --- The Year I believe has made this more red wine like. Was even too sharp to drink first time (chariot with spikes from the Roman era.) Now mellow’d more evenly through end.) The taste however I can not say is largely different.
