This limited edition brew is a unique collaboration between brewery and beer writer. Melissa Cole brought her vast experience to the tasting table and helped us deliver a stout worth writing home about.

Brewed in the traditional style that became a favourite royal court, this limited edition Imperial Stout has been specially created as a single brew. In a unique addition to the historic recipe, the floral character of the Centennial hops is enhanced by the inclusion of rose buds, lending a hint of Turkish delight flavour to the beer. This Imperial Stout has a rich, dark appearance with strong chocolate and deep cherry notes which lead to a lighter, bitter finish.

2015 vintage shared @ Lingua tasting. Pours near black with mahogany highlights. Aroma of dark roast and dark fruits, plum, date, black cherry, discernible booze note. Rich malt flavour, very savoury, soy, anise, booze, plum. Has a warming feel, medium body, a touch syrupy with lingering bitter chocolate. A very nice sipper.

2015 vintage. A plum brown color with a tan head, raisins, soy, toffee, chocolate, and umami. Medium bodied, smooth with a dry finish. The taste is savoury dark chocolate and nutty. Very tasty malt forward beer that is clearly intended to be aged, now if only it was a bit more affordable...

500ml bottle from LCBO. Pours a nice big frothy tan head and has a fairly dark brown appearance. Some sticky lacing remains. Aromas of roasted malts, some notes of chocolate and subtle coffee hints. Flavours of chocolate, cocoa, a little bit of vanilla and lots of toasty malts. Quite sweet. Alcohol is a bit noticeable but definitely not offensive at all. Smooth and slick mouthfeel. Quite a delicious brew.

Almost black color with a fine head that leaves a fine lacing down the sides of the glass. Fine intensity in the aroma. Full body and a smooth carbonation. Good balance between sweetness and bitterness. Chocolate, mild fruity, some coffee mild roast. Lovely and balanced stuff.

Bottled. Aroma like red wine or cognac. Prunes, tobacco and vanilla as well. Really complex. The body is black with a small thick brown head. The taste is heavily and thick of chocolate. Raisins, perfume and cacao. The finish is sweet like a port, but slightly too bitt r and sour for a 10. Overall heavenly.

[email protected] Pours very dark brown with almost no head. Aroma has dark malts, toasted malt, liquorice and notes of coffee and chocolate with a hint of grassy hops on top. Taste is quite complex with roasted malt, notes of burned caramel, liquorice and coffee with some sweetness and notes of grassy hops. Finish is balanced sweet and complex dark malty with some winey notes.

Nose is rye bread and some sweetness like honey and some coffee. Colour is very dark brown to black with small but nice head. Taste is also very bready with some honey notes and also coffee. Palate leaves rich honey notes and even some caramel notes.

UPDATED: NOV 12, 2016 A big, dense light tan head with top to bottom lacing. A near black body. An appealing nose featuring chocolate, cream, roasted caramel malt and a touch of booze. A big molasses, chocolate and dark berry burst leads off the taste profile. Slightly burnt butter, booze, fruity hops, malt, and raisins blend in underneath. A touch of vanilla and coffee round out the blend. Love the roasted elements and they grow and blend along with the butter as the taste grows. Didn’t expect an epic from Fullers!

Wheee! Bottled, enormous thanks to the Pulfer guys for sharing I think. Almost black brown body with a tan head. Big malty aroma, oily, raisins, light chocolate. Spicy, peppery malty taste, caramel, raisins, chocolate, soft, light alcohol. Interesting and quite lovely. Great job!

Alpha10 (772) - Ontario, CANADA - OCT 14, 2016
2016/10/14 - Pours black with a frothy khaki head that slowly reduces and leaves minimal lacing. Aroma is rich dark chocolate, roasted toffee, vanilla, hints of molasses, licorice, dried dark fruit (raisin, plumb) and a touch of smoke. Taste is burnt toffee, rich chocolate, roasted malt, anise and hints of dark fruit. Mouthfeel is full and oily with average carbonation and a dry, mildly bitter and slightly warming finish. Complex and rich. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
