This limited edition brew is a unique collaboration between brewery and beer writer. Melissa Cole brought her vast experience to the tasting table and helped us deliver a stout worth writing home about.

Brewed in the traditional style that became a favourite royal court, this limited edition Imperial Stout has been specially created as a single brew. In a unique addition to the historic recipe, the floral character of the Centennial hops is enhanced by the inclusion of rose buds, lending a hint of Turkish delight flavour to the beer. This Imperial Stout has a rich, dark appearance with strong chocolate and deep cherry notes which lead to a lighter, bitter finish.

Quite simply one of the best beers Iíve ever had. Lower carbonation. Huge chocolate, cherry, some prune notes. A nice bit of sweetness and a great creamy mouthfeel. Put simply, this is one of the best beers - let alone stouts - that youíll try. If you see it, donít baulk at the price...BUY IT!

SAMPLE 75 ml at tasting. BB 2024. Hm... smells like a dark Fullerís Vintage - mighty malty and jammy, molasses and sweet chocolate, interesting spicy clovy and rye bread notes. Good warming alcohol. Excellent.

UPDATED: JAN 3, 2017 Bottle. Pours a dark brown, black with some, latte-colored head. Aroma is plenty of roast, some liquorice, light smoke, earthiness. Taste is very roasted, slight smoke, some liquorice, slightly of the salty kind, some tar/peat, slight coffee. A hint of salty liquorice/tar candy. Full with decent carbonation. While you can feel the strength in the beginning, you quickly forget how strong this actually is. Getting through half a liter on your own is superbly easy.

50 cl, bottled. Pours black with a small tanned head. Aroma: Chocolate, coffee, roasted malt. Caramel. Dark bread. Red wine, vinegar. Taste: Roasted malt, strong licorice. Sweetish. Mild acidity. Alcohol. Raisins. Metallic tones. Some bitterness. Palate: Medium body, average carbonation. Tight, not bad, but tbh meh.

Appearance: nearly opaque black with just a hint of clear brown at the margins, good retention and lacing. (4/5) Aroma: cocoa, lactose, liquorice, red berries, floral, metallic. (6/10) Taste: moderate-high sweet, high bitter. (5/10) Palate: full body, soft carbonation, big boozy bitter finish. (3/5) Oof. Big, hot, heavy, and slightly metallic. Holy hell, Iíve had this sitting for over a year, and itís still hot and metallic? Clearly this thing ainít gonna settle down any time in the foreseeable future. Aggressive and unbalanced, but on the other hand itís boozy as hell, which is frankly never a bad thing. Plus, thereís the big bitter finish, so itís not a total wash. (12/20)

Bomber. Gift from Neko-chan. Best by 2023, so perhaps a tad young. Large fruity nose, with raisins and plums, coffee, some floral hops peeking out, and a touch of ash. Dark brown/black, rocky tan head. Moderately heavy dark roast malt initial, fruity and tangy in mid palate with plums, soy sauce, fair bittering, and a lightly salty finish. Medium-heavy body, smooth and warming. Well-balanced and flavorful.
