In possible celebration of a great gift! Erzengel (8723) - Wuppertal, GERMANY - JAN 7, 2014
Dark black in the glass, intense dark roasted-malty nose. The beer itself starts intense. Viscous, lots of roasted malt, very intense. In the mainpart is there a little bit of stout-typical sourness, which makes this beer at 10.7% and its high viscosity quite highly drinkable. Very dry in the end, Espresso, dark chocolate (which also has this slightly sourness, if over 90% cocoa), roasted dark bread. The aftertaste is long, intense. Only slightly bitter. Absolutely smooth, only a little bit warming, but the 10.7% are hard to taste - nearly no alcohol visible. jerohen (2296) - Bussum, NETHERLANDS - NOV 23, 2014
--> An absolute great brew! I don’t know what to make better here! --> 15/13/15/15
UPDATED: NOV 30, 2014 Bottled from Bierkoning, Amsterdam. Opaque black, beige head. Very, very complex nose of roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, licorice, raisins, hops, bit earthy even. Bittersweet flavor, chocolate and some coffee again, hops are more present than in aroma, licorice, little bit of fruit, perfectly balanced. Thick mouthfeel. Fantastic stuff, i really couldn’t get enough of this. May actually be the best Imperial Stout i know, amazing!

Pours thick black with a very thin brown head. Aroma is roasted malts and chocolate. Tastes of chocolate fudge, coffee, vanilla, roasted dark malts, caramel and booze. Creamy and tasty. A wonderful stout. Beersiveknown (5284) - NORTHERN IRELAND - NOV 1, 2013

3.85 a half but fully worth it. Pours unctuous oily black with brown highlights and charcoal lacing. Fairly timid nose, some coffee and chocolate. Rich, full bodied, warming but drinks well below its strength. Molasses, tobacco, coffee, smooth with long finish. I’m definitely buying a bottle!

Beer: Imperial Stout (bottled, 500ml) ***
Style: Imperial Stout ***
ALC.VOL.: 10.7% ***
"Brewed in the traditional style that became a favourite royal court, this limited edition Imperial Stout has been specially created as a single brew. In a unique addition to the historic recipe, the floral character of the Centennial hops is enhanced by the inclusion of rose buds, lending a hint of Turkish delight flavour to the beer." [brewery notes] ***
Colour: Pitch black, medium, fluffy brown head. ***
Nose: Bitter chocoloate, treacle, some roasted malt, black cherries. ***
Texture: Full bodied, not very oily though. Mild carbonation. ***
Taste: Sweetish toffee, notable black cherries balanced by strong roasted coffee malt. Malty in the middle, with roasted notes, some dark chocolate. Cherries now muted, but return for the finish, which otherwise is dominated by coffee notes. Bittersweet, long lasting aftertaste with coffee and milk chocolate. ***
Impressions: As formidable an imperial stout as one would expect from this company. Lots of flavor, lots of layers; carries its high alcoholic volume suprisingly well. Not as heavy as one would think. Highly recommended! Bozo_skeleton (1157) - Grenoble, FRANCE - JUN 25, 2015

Un regal en bouche, enveloppante, des saveurs réglisse, cafe, chocolat amère et quelques fruits noirs, amertume bien présente sur la longueur.
Une vrai petite bombe Druss (20) - Woodcroft, AUSTRALIA - MAY 23, 2016
Quite simply one of the best beers I’ve ever had.
Lower carbonation. Huge chocolate, cherry, some prune notes. A nice bit of sweetness and a great creamy mouthfeel. Put simply, this is one of the best beers - let alone stouts - that you’ll try. If you see it, don’t baulk at the price...BUY IT!
