COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Mainly bottle conditioned; Special. Has been seen on cask.

This limited edition brew is a unique collaboration between brewery and beer writer. Melissa Cole brought her vast experience to the tasting table and helped us deliver a stout worth writing home about.

Brewed in the traditional style that became a favourite royal court, this limited edition Imperial Stout has been specially created as a single brew. In a unique addition to the historic recipe, the floral character of the Centennial hops is enhanced by the inclusion of rose buds, lending a hint of Turkish delight flavour to the beer. This Imperial Stout has a rich, dark appearance with strong chocolate and deep cherry notes which lead to a lighter, bitter finish.

Bottle, 50 cl, shared with friends. Well balanced, complex, actually not too boozy. Pleasant finish.

March 12, 2015 - with blankboy, gregclow, jercraigs and mabel - 500ml bottle. Inky black with a diminishing average foamy light brown head. Aroma of alcohol, plum, light nutty roast, and some coffee - tons of plum (8-). Taste is fruity and tart with a little mint and coffee, not much bitterness. Light body, a bit slick and strongly carbonated - which is weird - with a quick slightly burnt dry acidic finish; oddly lacking in malt body or roastiness so a bit thin.

Bottle. Deep dark brown with a very thin tanned head. Aroma is sweet with alcohol, plums, and also a bit of oats. Taste is salty and has some soy sauce, licquorice, chocolate and malts. Good, but a bit boozy.

Bottle. Pours black with a tan head. Aroma of choko, deep roast, licorice, velvet feel, dried fruits. Rather sweet, loads of roast and fruity character, dry roast. Good

Bottle @ Fox and hounds, Sønderborg. Black body with a fine but small beige head, looks really good. Aroma is gentle, smooth roasted dark malt, dark chocolate, tofu, leather, vanilla, mild smoke, hint of peat, dark fruit and warming alcohol. This is the kind of beer with such complexity in aroma I feel for just swirling and sniffing in several minutes. Flavor lives up to the big expectations, this is incredible smooth, complex and big, but nothing feels like an exaggeration here. Everything feels like it done in a gentle British tradition, no American boldness here. Same as the aroma the flavor has this wonderful smooth, soft nice roasted dark malt, dark chocolate, some peat, wood, leather, vanilla and perfect balanced bitterness. Body is in perfect balance as well with a very long lasting, pleasant aftertaste. A masterpiece it is.

Black pours with creamy, light tan head. Light maly aroma, with some chocolate and cherries. Medium, hoppy bitter taste, little bit of roasted malts and plenty of chocolate flavours. Also has a light floral/herbal aftertaste. Super creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation, medium body. Really nice, full flavoured imperial stout.

2016 catch up - Bottle at home - Very tasty with a slight sweetness from the rose buds. Fantastic mouthfeel from the piles of burnt malt. The drinakability is fantastic and a re-taste is definitely in order.

500ml bottle @ the office. Pours a light opaque dark brown. Flavour is malty, light roasted blending well with a bittering aspect.

Dark brown. No head. This is pretty malty on the nose, with a bit of a meaty accent. Fairly burnt and toasty on the palate, with a hint of the alcohol in the finish. Lighter than the 10.7 would suggest.
