This limited edition brew is a unique collaboration between brewery and beer writer. Melissa Cole brought her vast experience to the tasting table and helped us deliver a stout worth writing home about.

Brewed in the traditional style that became a favourite royal court, this limited edition Imperial Stout has been specially created as a single brew. In a unique addition to the historic recipe, the floral character of the Centennial hops is enhanced by the inclusion of rose buds, lending a hint of Turkish delight flavour to the beer. This Imperial Stout has a rich, dark appearance with strong chocolate and deep cherry notes which lead to a lighter, bitter finish.

Mörkbrun till svart öl med ett mörkbeige skum. Doft av rostad malt och choklad. I smaken tillkommer lakrits.

Bottle LCBO: almost black beer with fine tan head that leaves a nice lace behind. Soft carbonation. Intense aromas of espresso and roasted malts with some fruit. The taste has chocolate and hops with a lovely mild note of dark fruits- black cherry and raisin. Smooth mouthfeel and nicely balanced. Robust body that stays true the royal court for which it was intended. Exquisite.

Just an incredibly fruity imperial, raisins, plums, and the consistency of jam. Some roast but mostly rich fruits, very full body, no alcohol burn, slightly sweet, creamy palate, exceptional.

I bought this bottle at the grain d’orges in Crissier. I drank it at home after two full days. In my opinion, it is a classical and tasteful imperial stout. The body is a lovely deep and powerful dark color, thin and brown foam. The carbonation is regular for the style. The taste is well balanced, we can notice at the final the high degree of alcohol, if I compare with the last Swedish imperial stout that I drank in la mise en bière. So we can smell the roasted malt, coffee, hop, strong presence of grapes, vanilla and a side of licor due to the high degree of alcohol. It is the kind of beer that you drink strep by step, reading a book or watching a beautiful landscape, particulary dedicated for the winter day.

GhostS (430) - Chișinău, MOLDOVA - DEC 5, 2016
medium aroma - roasted coffee, burnt malt, smoked fruit wood (slightly burnt), dried black fruits, cognac notes, dried brown bread. medium to strong taste - a lot of well roasted coffee (to burnt), burnt malt, pungent bitterness of something burnt (too much and unpleasant), tar, a bit spicy, a bit of chocolate with milk and caramel sweet, alcohol (cognac). good, but too much of burning and pungent bitterness.

Nurmis (753) - Oulu, FINLAND - DEC 2, 2016
500ml bottle. Pours black with tanned head. Roasted malts, liquorice, some dark fruits. On the sweeter side. You can notice the abv, but not too bad.

Gramoit (493) - Surrey, ENGLAND - NOV 26, 2016
Dark fruits on the nose, smooth chocolate dominates the flavour with hints of toffee. Happy I have another one in the cellar!
