COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Mainly bottle conditioned; Special. Has been seen on cask.

This limited edition brew is a unique collaboration between brewery and beer writer. Melissa Cole brought her vast experience to the tasting table and helped us deliver a stout worth writing home about.

Brewed in the traditional style that became a favourite royal court, this limited edition Imperial Stout has been specially created as a single brew. In a unique addition to the historic recipe, the floral character of the Centennial hops is enhanced by the inclusion of rose buds, lending a hint of Turkish delight flavour to the beer. This Imperial Stout has a rich, dark appearance with strong chocolate and deep cherry notes which lead to a lighter, bitter finish.

Look: clear dark brown, semi-transparent. Aroma: sweet, roasted, dark bread with molasses. Taste: strong to moderate sweetness balanced, light bitterness. Flavour: molasses, charcoal, rye bread, sweet Robusta. Balanced on the sweet side and not too complex however very pleasant and warming. Good.

larsga (7625) - Oslo, NORWAY - JUL 11, 2016
Medium beige head. Opaque black body. Roasty chocolatey earthy aroma with milky burnt notes. Sweetish roasty alcoholic taste with chocolatey spicy notes. Full-bodied. Mild, slightly hot mouthfeel. Dryish roasty menthol aftertaste with licorice, toffee, and resin notes. Interesting, drinkable, and very nice, but a little bit too alcoholic. (0.5l bottle, from SuperBrugsen Fredericia.)

-short review- Refined aroma and lackluster "sour old coffee" finish. Light palate.

nihtila (3836) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JUN 3, 2016
Bottle at home, I think approx two years old. Pours almost black, dark brown head. Nose is very rich and intense, chocolate, roast, liquorice, dried fruits, light cherry - fantastic aroma. Taste is oily and rich, liquorice, roast, chocolate, plenty of warming booze, dries fruits. Not as fantastic as nose but excellent brew. Straightforward in a good way, as many IS these days have loads of extra stuff, barrels etc. I wonder if the booziness would round with longer aging.
