3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
A clear orange color with a short lived off white head. Quite malty, nearly rock candy sweet scent. Has a good balance, dances between sweet and has that Fuller’s mineral saltiness to it. Can’t quite pull blackberries from it but does have that somewhat fruity quality. Decent tangy finish.
Copper colour, modest head. Weak lacing. Aroma of caramel, candy, minimal spicy hop. Light to medium body. Sweetish taste of caramel, a rum note. Grassy hop. Minimal roasty sourness. Light bitterness. DecentMad_Ferret (1019) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - DEC 22, 2015

UPDATED: DEC 28, 2015 Draught at Bishops Arms Folkungagatan 21/12-15.
Clear redish chestnut with a short beige head.
Berries, caramel and nuts with some spicy grassy notes on the nose.
Similar taste. Some caramel and nuts from the malt and then mostly slightly tart forest berries like blackberries and lingonberries and maybe some woody licorice in the finish.
Medium to lighter body, soft carbonation and slight oily palate.
Probably better as cask and now it was a bit too cold as well. Fairly boring and not very "warming" as the label said. anders37 (26641) - Malmö, SWEDEN - DEC 6, 2015

Roughly frothy ESB that the brewery chose to launch up to Christmas and therefore call a Christmas ale. It has a fresh aroma, the light soft fruit shines through with a little gentle hops. The taste is evident of blackberry contributing with good body and a little acidity that keeps a pleasant hoppy bitterness. As Christmas ale / winter ale, I think it is entirely wrong, but as an exciting alternative to the many harvest brew I think it’s very good. The freshness, acidity and good body makes it well suited to the season, but Fuller’s other repertoire is far more exciting than Jack Frost.
