Clear dark cherry body with a thin creamy off-white head. Aroma of dark roasted malts and molassas. Flavor of coffee with light bitterness and chocolate malt, but with a decent helping of molassas.

A coffee aroma with plenty of chocolate. The taste is sweet and that of coffee. The bitter aftertaste is perfect. This is up there with the Anchor Porter.

A rich coffee aroma with chocolate and malt. A quickly diminishing head with little lace. Light sweetness and excellent bitterness make this beer a true drinking pleasure. Creamy full body with soft carbonation across the tongue. Finishes with that bitter you gotta love. Iíd love to be able to make one that is just a little sweeter. Man this baby is good.

Deep ruby color. Aroma is roasty and sweet ó chocoate and toffee. The flavor is full of roasted malts, chocolate and a hint of coffee and smoke. Slightly bitter aftertaste that lingers with a roasted coffee taste. Smooth and creamy on the palate. An outstanding porter.

Awesome black body with a light ivroy head. Excellent chocolate malts and some creams, maybe some coffee accents as well. Good coffee accents in the body, great smooth ending.

Pours clear, very dark red brown (nearly black) with a small short lived head. The aroma is complex and a perfect blend of chocolate malts, roasted malts and earthy hints of yeast and vanilla. The aroma is so delightful you will want to breathe it in often while enjoying this porter. The flavor is exquisite - mild coco wrapped in sweetness supported by roasted malts and coffee, finishing dry and clean with a slight bitterness. The mouth feel is very smooth and creamy yet without coating. A lingering aroma of chocolate malt and coffee finish off the delightful experience. Fortunately Fullerís London Porter is readily available and reasonably priced. Its complex flavor and aroma profile beg to be enjoyed as a solo beverage or as a dinner dessert.

I was shocked to discover that I hadnít rated this beer yesterday so I made a point of picking one up tonight. Funny thing is I have had this several times since I joined this fine community. Pours a genre defining near black color that is nonetheless brown. A lovely pungent aroma of coffee and chocolate assaults the nostrils with joy. Strong coffee flavors dominate this beer but a rich chocolate finish brings things back around in a lovely sweet fashion. The mouthfeel is creamy and smooth and the lingering chocolate flavor is a delight long after the beer is finished. This is proof that a beer doesnít have to be loaded with alcohol to be rich and complex. A great beer that is fairly easy to find.

Dark brown reddish pour with a light tan head. Awesome aroma roasty of chocolate and coffee. The flavor is toasty, with chocolate and coffee notes coming though quite nicely. Very malty on the tounge with a warm bitter coffee finish. This is a great porter, the best Iíve had so far. Very well balanced and great for the colder months.

UPDATED: APR 4, 2006 This is the beer that turned me on to other beer styles besides mass produced lagers. Small disappearing head. Mouthfeel is wonderfully smooth. Creamy texture, complex flavors. My first porter/stout and probably the best Iíve tasted yet.

12 oz. Bottle: pours a beautiful translucent ruby red with off-white medium sized head which disappears quickly. Some mild lacing. Chocolate, cherry, raisin and slight wheat notes in the nose. Malty chocolate/espresso taste then charcoal with a very smooth finish. The full mouthfeel followed by such a clean ending makes for a solid porter. Yummmm.
