Very suprised by this beer, dark and chewy like a fine stout. The chocolate undertones are terrific. This is is by far my favorite porter. Well balanced, smooth, and oh how I wish I bought more than one bottle! Choke (96) - Massachusetts, USA - MAR 6, 2002
This stuff impressed me big time, i am a big fan of the esb as well but for a porter this is the best i have had, roasted flavor and its start is creamy and its finish is smooth Raytailgater (105) - Rockledge, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 6, 2002

UPDATED: JAN 10, 2013 Dark brown with a big tan head. Aroma and flavor of roasted malts and coffee. Light sweetness, lightly bitter, medium body, average carbonation, long coffee finish. omhper (26346) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - FEB 27, 2002
UPDATED: FEB 7, 2007 Very dark ruby in colour.
Rich, roasty and very flavourful. Still velvetty soft, and very drinkable.
Complex and well balanced.

This beer is like a jawbreaker. The longer you sip the more flavors you get. Best warm. Not for the sauna. mtoast (336) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 21, 2002
the best porter i've ever had, certainly a benchmark for the style.......... htomren (12) - Long Beach, California, USA - FEB 20, 2002
Sweet roasted chocolate aroma, thick coffee/chocolate flavor, pleasant finish. Starts off good and gets even better the more you drink. Excellent brown porter. Jake Barnes (457) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - FEB 14, 2002
This just became one of my favorite porters. Just loads of chocolate biscuit flavor in here. Its like drinking a cookie or something. Silky smooth finish. A fantastic effort from fullers. Drew (2412) - Kent, Ohio, USA - FEB 13, 2002
UPDATED: AUG 15, 2004 rich roasted chocolate. smooth, thick. a top porter........................
