Yum. This is a rich typical porter. Nice and roasty and thick. Fuller's is one of my favorite breweries and I'm not often disappointed by them. BockMan99 (20) - lawrence, Kansas, USA - NOV 30, 2001
Nice bold aroma, excelent dark color almost bordering on stout, superb flavor. Kinda of a cross between a mocha and beer. Definatly one of my top 10! heykevin (1287) - Decorah, Iowa, USA - NOV 26, 2001
Definitely a british porter rather than an american, as it lacks the harsh roastiness that plagues many american porters. Some vinious notes, but they are balanced, a very good porter. mikenodak (150) - Fargo, North Dakota, USA - NOV 20, 2001
smooth, malty, chocolate - one of the best in this style.................... fraternie (1030) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - NOV 5, 2001
A fabulous porter. Very smooth beer loaded with sweet chocolate malt flavor. One of the best beers of this style in the world.

These dark, sweet, malty, with strong hints of coffee, chocolate to cooking marinade tasting beers will take some getting use to...how do you drink more than one. Very interesting beer though. tourette (225) - Seattle, Washington, USA - OCT 18, 2001
This is an excellent porter. My favorite of the Fuller's line so far. It starts of a bit thin, but thats quickly overtaken with a warm, roasty chocolate coffee flavor. The taste is left lingering for awhile. Highly recommended. jayme9874 (756) - Hamburg, New York, USA - OCT 2, 2001
On the red side of black, decent off white head, sweet roasted malty aroma, with some hints of chocolate. Little shot of hops and roasted malt on the frontend, has a light-medium winey body, chocolate notes all the way through the middle, ends with another shot of hops(nothing to strong mind you) and some nice roastiness...nice porter, fairly creamy delievery, maybe a tad astrigent? This is good but Anchor still has my heart up to this point...but a must try for porter lovers...... UPDATED: OCT 24, 2013 The chocolatiest of porters. Not as good as I remember during my impressionable years ten or so years ago. Lots of toffee and fruitcake flavors.
