Just stellar beer. Shuck out the bucks, because there aren't many better. Aroma is somewhat milk-shaky, perhaps from lactose. Flavor is not so burnt as to be unenjoyable. Fairly dry. A good fire and a good Fuller's to all! fuchebu (146) - Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 11, 2001
This is roasty and full flavored. Hits the spot on a cool evening.......... fishman (350) - Philadelphia, USA - DEC 10, 2001
Great roasty aroma accompanied by a wonderfully dark complexion. Great roasty and malty tastes but the finish is slightly bitter and unpleasant. Delbomber (387) - Philadelphia, USA - DEC 10, 2001
Dark, almost opaque body below a persistent, creamy tan head, mild lacing. Imparts a roasty and malty bouquet, comprised of chocolate, coffee with cappucino highlights, and an underlying earthiness. Medium-bodied and smooth, the flavor follows suit, containing roasted coffee and malted chocolate flavors, complemented by bittersweetness and ripe, almost sweet, sugariness. Finish is dominated by sugared coffee, leaving a mild, long bitterness and aftertaste. dins (266) - Texas, USA - DEC 7, 2001

Yum. This is a rich typical porter. Nice and roasty and thick. Fuller's is one of my favorite breweries and I'm not often disappointed by them. BockMan99 (20) - lawrence, Kansas, USA - NOV 30, 2001
Nice bold aroma, excelent dark color almost bordering on stout, superb flavor. Kinda of a cross between a mocha and beer. Definatly one of my top 10! heykevin (1287) - Decorah, Iowa, USA - NOV 26, 2001
Definitely a british porter rather than an american, as it lacks the harsh roastiness that plagues many american porters. Some vinious notes, but they are balanced, a very good porter. mikenodak (150) - Fargo, North Dakota, USA - NOV 20, 2001
smooth, malty, chocolate - one of the best in this style.................... fraternie (1034) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - NOV 5, 2001
A fabulous porter. Very smooth beer loaded with sweet chocolate malt flavor. One of the best beers of this style in the world.
