4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
A fine example of the British style, much different than North American Porters. Fuller’s does a fine job and this brown bear with a crimson streak is no exception. The big tan head releases smokey, roasty, chocolate, light coffee and nutty fragrances. It’s a bit sweet, a bit smoked and with a bitter balance. The curvy, medium/heavy body is like a thinner Guinness. I enjoy drinking it a bit warmer to really get the flavours out of it.

Served from the 18.6 oz bottle, best by date of Feb 14, 2005 so....I'll try to get a fresher sample next time(Have had fresh samples before) and do an update if needed.
Pours extremely dark brown with a medium sized head that shrunk until there was only a fine layer on the top. The smell was all coffee and chocolate to me.
The taste was the same as the smell only reinforced. Lovely malty, chocolaty, coffee thing going on that made drinking this a real pleasure. Time doesn't seem to have hurt this one too much at all.

A bottle from Jason's near NCCU, drunk at home. Aroma: caramel. Appearance: hazy cola, head dissipates to nothing. Palate: medium-bodied and slick, soft carbonation, sweet and flavoursome finish. Taste: medium sweet and bitter, lots of coffee, a bit of chocolate. Very nice beer. kraddel (8762) - Antwerp, BELGIUM - OCT 10, 2017
Pours dark, caramelly brown. Small white head. Smell is faded chocolate, caramel, mild intensity. roasty. Taste is mild smokey, burt ( ashy) malts. rather intense. Faded coffee, hidden cocoa. not bad at all. Erzengel (9364) - Wuppertal, GERMANY - OCT 6, 2017

Deep chocolate/coffee flavor without being sweet or artificial tasting in any way. Lovely bottle, I will be looking for this from now on! PeatyPete (1112) - NETHERLANDS - SEP 30, 2017
UPDATED: SEP 30, 2017 Dark brown colour with beige head. Aroma is metallic. Taste is creamy, cocolate, coffee and caramel malt. jasonbenali (234) - Kent, ENGLAND - SEP 26, 2017
Pours dark brown to black with a thin beige head.
Aroma is plum, milk chocolate, raisin, coffee and burnt caramel. Taste is sweet then bitter in a medium finish. A little thin.
Very well balanced porter, a little stronger and would be great. So mich more interesting than most of their range! higgsbison (261) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - SEP 23, 2017
Complex flavor profile and sublimely balanced. Rich creamy and very smooth. On the dry side with a long finish. Medium bodied.
Mellows nicely as it warms up. the problem is it's awesome cold too, so it's hard to have any left by the time it's proper drinking temperature. You might want to just let it sit a bit before starting it. Lives up to its rep as the world's finest Porter.
I have had this many many times now. I love this beer

500ml can into pint glass. Pours ruby red/dark brown with perfect off-white creamy head. Nose of rich dark chocolate and toffee. Full body, smooth texture. Taste is bitter chocolate. Finish is cocoa, more chocolate, fruit cake. Slightly dry and bitter right at the end. I can live without porters but this is superb.
