Cask (gravity) @ The National Winter Ales Festival 2008, Manchester, UK. [ My UK rating # 600 ] Clear medium brown color with a small to average, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, burnt, chocolate. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. [Cask at Charlieís Bar, Copenhagen] An opaque red-brown beer with a small brown head. The aroma is sweet roasted with notes of caramel and hints of coffee - the flavor is like the aroma, but combined with notes of berries. Bank, Turku. Black opaque, not much head. Very fine roasted malt and toffeeish flavour, with hints of dark chocolate. Flavour is strong roasted malt with hints of oak. A bit bitter finish and caramelly aftertaste.

(On tap) Black and almost opaque with a vague reddish hue. Creamy, beige head leaving some laces. Lightly burned, malty nose. Rather full body, lightly burned malty flavours with some incredibly delicious almost vinous accents - port - and some accents of dried fruit.
