Well balanced easy drinking Ale. Delicate hop flavour as with the malt is subtle yet persistent. Appearance is amber with copper tones. Fruit notes up front with nutty wood finish. A gem of West London.

UPDATED: DEC 8, 2017 Review from memory. London Pride was one of the beers that I would often drink when I first got into ale and real beer. My review notes at the time indicate however: “often a ‘bad’ pint in certain pubs”. Can’t remember what that is about, but it’s probably aimed at Wetherspoons ;)

From cask at Bank, Manchester, 29.11.17. Dark golden. Dense and persistent head and lacing. Aroma and taste of pale malt, hints of caramel and nuts. Medium low bitterness. Good quaffability.

Pint at Flying Horse, Gatwick airport. Copper, slightly offwhite head. Soft carbonation. Somehow this represents all the things I want in a British pint with my Fish&Chips. Malty sweet and fruity aroma. Mild hops and biscuits in the taste. It's a good quality beer, but it is a bit streamlined to achieve higher drinkability.

(2017 London) ½ Pint Cask @ Doggett’s Coat & Badge. Near clear amber, off-white head, nice lacing. Nose is buttery wet soggy grains, cereal, toffee, caramel. Taste is butter, sunflowers, soggy grains, oily cereal, grain, almost raw wort. Body is thick soggy grains, cereal, toffee butter. Not bad but definitely not a wow like hoped, might be not optimal but I don’t dare judge cask quality due to my lack of knowledge.

On the hand pump at The Duck Inn, Chippendale. Pours a straw colour with a very thick white head. Very malty aroma and the beer has a complex malty backbone with mild bitterness that is moderately lasting on the palate. Overall a very good quality session beer.

Clear dark golden liquid, average head. Average strength aroma of yeast. Medium body, no carbonation. Taste is bitter and weak.

Probably the first real ale that truly impressed me, and my go-to choice when I’m feeling like a traditional pint of bitter.

London Pride is a gorgeous golden amber in appearance, with a feint off white head. It’s incredibly smooth for a beer of such complex taste; hops mingle wonderfully with a malt backbone, creating an exceptional pint.

On cask from pub in London. From hand pump pours a copper color. Has tastes of cracker malts and hoppy everessence
