Ljust bärnstensfärgad. Stor doft med knäck, torkad frukt och aningen honung. Smaken är söt och maltig med knäck, honung och torkad frukt. En god klassiker. Provning på De Klomp.

One of my favourite go to beers. Subtle orange, floral hop aroma with a lovely clean bitterness. Tastes of biscuit, caramel, toast and toffee.

Biscuit and savory aromas on the nose. Mineral water notes with a flash of slight sourness and bitterness at the end of a sip lead to a clean finish. Paired well with a reuben panini. A nice light and always consistent ale.

Dark copper colour, still transparent. Small to average head, not very good retention but some lacing. Aroma of biscuity/toffee/slightly toasted malts with subtle fruitiness and maybe the faintest herbal hint. Decently vivid and very clean. Taste follows the aroma with average sweetness and light to medium bitterness. Finish is slightly on the bitter side with a note of leafy, tea like bitterness. Light to medium body, almost flat, goes down very easy. Overall enjoable and averagely good, but fails to impress.

0.3 bottle. Pours murky amber color with medium, mostly diminishing white head. Aroma of hops, bisquits , fruits, medium malty. Notes of diacetyl. Flavor is medium sweet, light to medium bitter. Nutts, bisquits. Finish is medium long, medium bitter, light sour. Light body, flat carbonation.

Bottle as Christmas gift. Pours clear deep copper with no lasting head. Nose is subtle with dried fruit, cinnamon and chewy toffee. Tastes are subtle orange zest, light hop and very gentle bittering malt adding warming tones. Nothing here is bold but it all fits together well. Has an enjoyable palate with a soft body and light sparkle. Overall this is a very refreshing ale and very easy drinking.

Type: 330-ml. bottle Glass: Modern Times willybecher pint glass From: My friend, Alistair Price: N/A Purchased: N/A; Received on Dec. 31, 2016 Consumed: Dec. 31, 2016 Reviewed as: English Pale Ale Misc.: Best by March 15, 2017 at 3:43 p.m. MT Was left over from a New Year’s Eve party. Surprised I had never reviewed it. Has been awhile since I had an EPA and not sure how this one will go. Going into it with an open mouth. Poured a light amber clear color with one finger of off-white fizzy head, which dissipated quickly. Just a few bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass. Poor watery lacing. Poor retention. (Sight - 3.00) Smelled biscuit, buttered brown bread, caramel and hints of toffee. Good for the style I guess, but that’s it. (Smell - 3.75) Taste was better than the smell. Forgot how clean and simple (not to sound snobby) this style is. Got buttered brown bread, caramel, bitter biscuit, caramel candy and some toffee. (Taste - 4.25) Light body. Thin texture. Average carbonation. Abrupt buttery finish. (Feel - 4.00) I liked this one. First smell and sips brought me back to the style. Not sure I would seek this style out, but nice to try. (Overall - 4.00) 3.98 89 B+

Pours amber with a nice white head which slowly recedes. Aromas of nutty malt. Taste is slightly sweet and very well balanced. Notes of bread and nutty malt, butter and vanilla with well integrated hops and some fruity esters. Creamy, medium bodied and lightly carbonated. This is one of my favourite beers, it’s got a bit of everything and still quite sessionable.

0.5 l bottle from Pivoteka, Zagreb. Shared with lovely Anja. Clear golden, diminishing off-white head. Some hoppy aroma, also off-flavors. Acetaldehyde if I can tell. Buttery taste, hops still present, grassy. Kinda flat. Soft carbonation, medium body, light malty finish. Not really good.

Bottle. Nice aroma- hay maltyness, with some flower, herbal notes in the background. Light- amber, perfectly clear, with white good-looking, but short-lasting head. Taste- quite watery, with low CO2. Some delicate maltyness, with medium-low herbal bitterness. This ESB won’t give you some interesting experiences, but it’s a quite tasty and easy drinking session beer.
