Pleasent and rather seasoned ale. It’s good on its own but also ok with meaty food.
Clean reddish brown color with a creamy head of off-white colored foam. Very medicinal aroma up front with caramel and dried apple. Somewhat dry, crisp, and smooth. Emeister84 (2505) - Charlottesville, Virginia, USA - JUL 17, 2017
Bready aromas, caramel, toffee, light orange citrus. Hazy red-amber with a fairly lasting beige head. Mostly dry, biscuity, bready, somewhat herbaceous. Medium bodied. DrNosha (2332) - Württemberg, Germany, GERMANY - JUL 8, 2017
500ml Flasche. Bernsteinfarben, beiger Schaum. Etwas Malz und Nussaromen. Geschmack recht dezent. Bitternoten und Brot. Chopper925 (561) - Gross Gerau, GERMANY - JUL 7, 2017
UPDATED: JUL 7, 2017 Bottle. Clear, light brown color, nice white head. Malt, bread and grass aroma. Dry taste, high bitterness, light sour. Malty, bitter aftertaste, but a refreshing bitterness. Medium texture, fresh carbonation. thepatrickman (1336) - Jevington, East Sussex, ENGLAND - JUL 4, 2017
Pint at a wedding. This isn’t the most exciting bitter in the world, but it doesn’t have many flaws, either. There’s a big caramel sweetness at first, but it never gets cloying, and there’s a hint of earthy/minty hops at the end.

2015 BJCP Category: 11B Best Bitter
AROMA: Very sweet nose with prominent caramel and toffee character. Slight buttery aroma, which is acceptable and complements the confectionery sweetness. Little to hop presence. 8/12
APPEARANCE: Fairly dark copper/amber hue. Mostly clear. Moderate off-white foam. 3/3
FLAVOR: Strong caramel and toffee flavors along with a red apple aftertaste (almost juicy). Firm dry bitterness on back end, slight toasted bread/biscuit flavor. Faint touch of chocolate. Slight diacetyl presence, but it’s not distracting (acceptable). 16/20
MOUTHFEEL: Medium-light body and carbonation. Very smooth and refreshing. At 4.7% ABV it’s quite tempting to session this. 4/5
OVERALL IMPRESSION: Mostly well-balanced palette of sweet confectionery flavors and earthy/spicy hops. Highly drinkable. 8/10
TOTAL SCORE: 39/50
500ml bottle. Pours clear amber, small off-white head. Aroma is sweet, fruity, peach, caramelly. Taste is sweet, malty, worty, burnt caramelly. Orange in aftertaste, some hops. Light to medium bodied, average carbo. Decent brew, not bad. Agibaer (2) - Innsbruck, AUSTRIA - JUL 2, 2017 does not count
Balanced beer, not too bitter, mild hops, pleasant finish. Pale color but rich taste. Olorin (42) - Graz, AUSTRIA - JUN 30, 2017
330 ml bottle. Clear amber colour, small head shortly lasting, good lacing, soft carbonation. Nose is malty, caramel. Flavour is well balanced between malty sweetness and hoppy bitterness. Good mouthfeel, average duration in the finish. Nice. loco_pap (11) - GREECE - JUN 21, 2017
Amber color and low carbonation, suitable for the style. Malty aroma and flavor balanced by discreet hop flavors and a slight toast flavor in the background.
Very easy drinking and my favourite everyday beer.
