Nutty, chocolatey, caramel malt aroma has notes of dark fruit. Clear copper coloured body is topped by decent white head that recedes rapidly to ring. Nutty, cocoa flavour with some caramel, toffee and the lightest hints of butterscotch. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Bottle sampled at RBESG 2005. Bottle RBESG. Clear, light brown color. Very malty, roasted flavor. Too thin but pleasant. Dry palate. Nice. Sully (1380) - Potts Point, New South Wales, AUSTRALIA - JUN 3, 2005
Top marks for presentation in the glass. It has a pleasant depth of orange amber and a clean fluffy head. The nose is of dried fruit and toffee that gives a good hint of what is to come. But then, what happened to the flavour? Thin and astringent without any real body and character. Its a rate even if I don’t rate it. maeib (8749) - Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, ENGLAND - JAN 17, 2005
Bottled. A mid brown coloured beer with no head. The aroma is bitter and toffee with lots of hay. The taste is very bitter bit lots of heavy malts and agian some toffee. Too heavy for its own good methinks Garrat (1347) - Suffolk, ENGLAND - JAN 10, 2005
