, Helsinki. Deep ambery brown colour, small beige head. Aroma is varamel malts, some slight wooden notes as well as mild grains. Flavour is at first wooden but gets a huge kick of licorice, which hides pretty much the other stuff. Mild spicyness as well. Very pleasant and different though.
Bottled. Clear amber. Fruity hay aroma. Buttery and toffeish with typical Fuller style solid, bold mouthfeel. Piney, bitter finish. rlgk (18850) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - NOV 7, 2010

500ml bottle from Sainsburys. Attractive russet colour with disappearing beige head. Nice raisiny malt aroma. OK in mouth, but a bit too carbonated which is a shame. Some coffee on the toasty malts and some more burnt raisins. Nice warming beer. TBone (17673) - Pori, FINLAND - JAN 18, 2009

Clear copper brown color, small beige head. Caramelly, nutty and a bit lemony nose - not outstanding. Medium-bodied. Nutty caramelly with good late bitterness. Standard "ok" filtered UK Ale.
A: The pour is a golden amber color with a finger’s worth of creamy white head.
S: A distinct butterscotch aroma along with lots of sweet caramel malts. Also a bit of a fruit note and sugar.
T: There is a strange fruitiness to this beer that I pick up right off the bat, yet I’m not quite able to identify what it is. Quite sweet and heavy on the caramel and toffee with notes of butter (diacetyl) and bread.
M: Medium in both body and carbonation.
D: Not something I’d really be interested in having again. Much to sweet and a very strange flavor that I’m not entirely sure I enjoyed. FatPhil (16336) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - APR 4, 2009

Simple grainy malty arom. Decent roasty taste, a bit burnt. Fairly pleasant, but a bit keggy - go for the cask version instead if you can.
Cask. Dark chestnut colour. Fruity, malty, flowery flavour. Very bitter, quite harsh aftertaste.
