(bottle) Clear, dark amber colour with a firm and mid-sized slightly tanned foamy head. Slightly toasted malty aroma with caramel, hints of caramel and a mildly spicy and fruity hoppy touch. Moderately bitter and slightly sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a well-carbonated mouthfeel. Initially malt-accented toasty taste with caramel and delicately nutty notes, accompanied by a rounded spicy and fruity hoppy blend; quite dry and bitter hoppy finish with a balanced toast-malty touch. Not really Christmassy but nevertheless a rounded British Ale. 01.III.13
0.5 l bottle @ home. Pours mahogany with beige head. Nose is spicey and malty, taste is quite similar with some surprisingly apparent bitter hops in the finish. Light to medium body, average carbo. Not bad, but nothing extraordinary either. Karstenborg (1145) - Hasselager, DENMARK - NOV 6, 2017

Klares rotbraun mit durchschnittlicher Schaumkrone. Malzig, Röstaromen, nussig, etwas Karamell, trocken, würzig. gripweed57 (2854) - Hamilton Square, New Jersey, USA - APR 28, 2017
From old tasting notes. Deep reddish brown color topped by a thick, rocky beige head. Soft sweet toasted malt aroma hints at caramel. Bittersweet malt flavor has a peppery spiciness to it. A firm well-rounded ale with a pleasantly long dry finish and aftertaste. chimayx (133) - FRANCE - APR 4, 2017
