500ml bottle shared with the wife on 30th Aug 2014, drank in The Old Joint Stock, Birmingham. Really enjoyed this semi-sweet malty brew and re-living 1966 again (was too young to drink then though). Lovely colour and texture, deep, dark amber, off-white crown and a smooth feel throughout the drink. Malty molasses vie with a mixed bag of dark fruits in both the nose and taste, the alcohol well hidden within the flavours. A very good beer and one i would gladly have again and again.

Deep amber / red beer with a beige head. Color looks great. Caramel and sweet bread on the nose. Medium body. Medium carbonation. Lots of caramel and sweet malts with balanced bitterness. Tastes really great.

ladne opakowanie, to przede wszystkim stylowa etykieta nawiazujaca do owczesnego piwa. Stara receptura dajes sie tu zauwazyc przede wszystkim juz po pierwszym lyku. Piwo jest tresciwe gozkie i jakby lekko stechle pachnie zarowno mokra wilgotna scierka jak i podsuszonymi morelami. Kolor ciemno bursztynowy, piwo o skromnej pianie. Delikatnie wysycone. slodowosc uboga ale suszona trawa daje znac w koncowce pozostawiajac dlugi wytrawny finisz. Calkiem inne piwo niz wiekszosc ESA

5 on 5 for appearance. A radiant, fiery chestnut with a dense and tight, off-white foam that lasts and weaves a messy, tick lace. Rather dusty, plummy, oaken nose with inklings of rust, butterscotch, smoked pork hock, spicy higher alcohol and leather. Quite soft, sweet and toffeeish in the mouth. Alcohol kicks like a mule and warms up the sweet, nutty caramel finish. Light oak and cedar notes, blood and rust with a plummy backdrop. Defined woody, nutty notes over throw any nuance of hops. Pretty boring drinking really. I canít get excited about this one. Least it looked good. (50cL, BB 31/12/16, The Liquor Shed, Jandakot)
