Bottled, special.
1966 Strong Ale, the fourth in the series, is a bottle conditioned ale brewed to a strong ale recipe from 1966 when it was drunk during the celebration of England’s victory in the World Cup. This warming, dark ruby ale has a rich rounded flavour with notes of plum and a velvety warm caramel finish.

50cl bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - dark honey colour. Nice fluffy head. Nose - toffee and gentle biscuits. Taste - toffee some ginger bread on the finish. Palate - full bodied with a big sweet and tangy texture and a relatively balanced finish. Overall - toffee and more toffee. It’s another good beer by Fullers but I’d haveliked an eextra dimension or two.

thomat (3863) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - MAY 18, 2014
Bottle from SB. Dark amber with a thick off white head. Fruity and malty tones. Fruit, toffee, malt and hops. Medium to full body with a nice balanced after taste.

jackl (8071) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - MAY 8, 2014
Bottle @ Jackl Towers. Deep chestnut pour with a medium off-white head. Quite attractive. The nose is pretty rich. Roasted grain and earthy leather. Supple toffee and hints of acidic red forest fruits. Light cardboard. The taste had a surprising spicyness to it. More roasted grain, burnt brown sugar. Building sweetness in the somewhat hot finish. Plenty of toffee and bear claw donut. Full body, oily texture. Soft carbonation. Overall, a pretty nice cold weather beer. Already starting to oxidize, which is unfortunate.

mjs (7357) - Helsinki, FINLAND - MAY 8, 2014
(Bottle, 0.5 l, from Alko Arkadia, 20140508) The beer poured quite red and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had malts, molasses, caramel and earth. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, caramel, toffee, molasses, grass, earth and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet and bitter. Despite the strong sweetness the end result was well balanced. Still not my style of beer.

Pours a light red with an off white head. Smell is very sweet with a hint of acid. Taste is like treacle, in a good way.

EdKing (2586) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 26, 2014
Bottle from the Fullers brewery shop. Old school English ale. Mahogany/ chestnut brown, clear, off white head which dissipates completely. Nose is caramel, nutty, polished antique wood, some prune and dried fruit. Taste is dried fruit, prune, caramel, slight candy sugar, tangy ale fruity, nutty, alcohol. It’s got a robust fruitiness that grows on the palate as it warms up.

laiti (8469) - Tampere, FINLAND - APR 25, 2014
50 cl bottle @ home, BBE 31.01.2016
Aroma has nuts and some grassy tones. Flavour has toffee candy, some grassy hops, nuts and an unpleasant metallic savor. Also slightly stinging alcohol, that grows stronger and becomes even somewhat fusel-like at the end of the glass. Somewhat unbalanced and a bit messy. And quite straightforward for this ABV.
