Bottle. Tasted along side 2000 and 2004 versions and it is slightly better than 2000 and much better than 2004.
This is a fantastic beer. Creamy off-white excellent fully lasting head. Amber colour. Exstremely well balanced sweet/bitter aroma and flavor. Fantastic palate. Enjoy it if you can find one. Leighton (22812) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 12, 2014
Bottle shared in London - huge thanks to Colin for hauling in this whale. Pours mostly clear, amber-brown with a frothy, tan head. The nose has some nice, lightly tangy berry fruits on the nose, slight leather, toffee, wood. Medium sweet flavor, more toffee, old fruits, leathery cherries, caramel, mellow tang, slight basement. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation; impressively well conditioned for the age. Sweet finish with some jammy, leathery fruits, gooey toffee, slight wood. Excellent beer. Amber-brown colour with large beige head and nice lace. Extremely malty, fruits and vegetables (an entire kitchen garden!), treacle, alcohol. Full bodied. fro2218 (471) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - OCT 3, 2007
Sampled in 2006. Dark red with little head. Dark caramel and plums. A lot of oxidated flavors - nice pleasent dark fruits. Christian (13927) - Odense, DENMARK - JUN 2, 2008
Amber beer with a small white head. Aroma has caramel and some butterscotch, with a strong sherry note to it. Smooth, fruity and caramel flavour quite vineous.

Pours amber with a thin white head. Smells of cherries, fresh fruit, hints of residual sugar, woody. Tastes of cognac, light booziness that is complimentary, some nice fruity hints, touches of earthiness. Finishes with a hint of sherry. Enjoyable. paiste2002 (186) - Saugus, California, USA - FEB 16, 2009
Pours amber with a smallish off white head. Aroma is caramel maltiness, dark fruit, raisins. Flavor is caramel maltiness, nutty, raisins, oak, a hint of vanilla and fruitiness. Finish is warming with some alcohol coming through. BMan1113VR (7930) - Los Angeles, California, USA - JUL 21, 2009
Bottle I shared with all the great people at Stone Sourfest. Pours with a large tan head over a hazy golden body. Aroma of sherry, caramel berries, raisins, honey and biscuit. Taste is very long lasting with caramel, and biscuit malts with sherry, brandy and some oxidation. Smooth with light bubbles. This beer held up very well, way better than expected! I was one of those lucky ones BMan shared with. Thanks a bunch. Hazy burnt orange glass. Off-white ring. Nose is sharp oak and smooth booze. Taste is sweet to clean malt to vanilla to brown sugar. angrypirate06 (1388) - Texas, USA - SEP 27, 2009
