WOW! Tastes like their ESB on steriods! Well worth the search to find it.... VA Homebrewer (525) - Portsmouth, Virginia, USA - FEB 18, 2002
Bottled brilliance. Nose of port, sherry, plums, raisins with a Fuggle background is absolutely mouth watering. Deep bronze color is breathtaking. Deep malty start with notes of port and plums in the middle. Finishes with a pleasant mixture of malt and bitterness. The flavors just blend perfectly, as do the different aromas. This is just perfect in place of a B&B or a port after dinner. clove99 (1) - Texas, USA - FEB 23, 2002 does not count

Just a pleasant ale. A lots of malt flavors with a good hops balance. Not particularly complex, but age may help. papajohn (1250) - San Diego (Mira Mesa), California, USA - SEP 3, 2002
UPDATED: JUN 14, 2004 1999 Vintage, Bottle #74280 sampled 9/3/02 to commerate my Centennial: This is my kind of brew!!! Cloudy apricot color. Small quickly demishing head. Flavor is complex: Sweet malt, mild bitterness, peach, sherry, honey, etc. Warms the face as well as the tummy. Lingering mouth watering aftertaste. Even smoother as it warms.
2000 Vintage, Bottle #72749 sampled 1/02/03, my first review of 2003: Pours a beautiful amber/copper color with a fluffy white head. Tiny bubbles rise to the surface. The nose is brandy like. Flavor: Start is syrupy sweet caramel, toffee and a little harshness from the alcohol (sometimes I like it a little rough around the edges) much like a barleywine, finish is smooth and sweet with a slight hop bite. Lingering mouth watering aftertaste. Warms your face as well as your tummy. 9/5/8/4/18 4.4

This is the one that got me hooked on fine ale. I don’t know how it could get any better than this. Dixen (1465) - Flagstaff, Arizona, USA - APR 1, 2004
Bottle # 06681, sampled April 1st, 2004 - Have been waiting for this beer wtih anticipation, im celebrating my 19th birthday with this stunning example of an fucking nice brew, pardon my french! So lets start to check the goodies out...
Brown to dark red color, with a medium beige head although its fast disappearing. Nice tiny bubbles on the inside of the glass. Ver malty aroma, with candied fruits and some nice notes of alcohol. The flavor is toffee, lots of maltiness, dark candied fruits abit like plum in madeira, some bitter chocolate and a nice dry finish with a very creamy mouthfeel. This beer fucking rocks! Splendid way to finish a nice birthday meal... ukoolaid (580) - Amherst, Massachusetts, USA - MAR 10, 2006
UPDATED: FEB 9, 2008 Bottle. It pours a dark red/brown with a small off-white head. It’s pretty hazy, with only slight carbonation. The aroma is heavy fruit, earthy, with spices and toffee. Taste is VERY full. Dark fruits, eathy, molassas, and a good kick of alcohol. Warming with a good balance of sweet and bitter. This is a damn fine beer. It’s sad that I’ll probably never have it again. theHerman (4) - USA - MAR 30, 2007 does not count
Incredibly smooth. Every sip was surprising. Felt like you could drink ten more of them and still enjoy it.
