UPDATED: AUG 5, 2013 Bottle at Caspar’s Running Toilet Tasting. Pours rich, amber-red with a small, white head. Dark fruits, caramel and mild oxidation in the aroma. Great flavor, fairly mellow but with some kick at the edges. Notes of cake, rich caramel, toasty sugar, leather, and fig. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly warming finish, dark sugars, caramel, leather, dark fruits. Lovely beer. The age has done it well. (4.3)fiulijn (20515) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 6, 2005
Had another bottle that was shared at CBC Clerkenwell - London. The beer is still damn good. Solid. (4.2)

Beautiful amber color, strangely hazy; the head is quite thin, but creamy and persistent. The aroma is malty but also alcoholic, nutty, with light bitter almonds. Good body strength, the mouthfeel starts getting a bit oily; the malt flavor turned into cookie dough and marzipan; still strong bitterness, but also the alcohol can be clearly perceived. Tired beer, not worth ageing more.

Beautiful copper color, reducing head. Very malty aroma, very light Bourbon vanilla. Good body structure, a bit oily, quite thick; really malty; nuts (wallnuts), a lot of caramel. Incredibly harmonious. Very long final, malty and honeyish; knocks you out!
The carbonation and the young age makes of it, still, a partially aggressive brew (but excellent).
Bottle split at Craft Beer Clerko, 08/07/13, massive thanks to Fin for gifting me this one. #34840.
Murky amber orange with a thin beige head that dissipates edgeward leaving a film.
Nose is woody, walnuts, dark fruits, sugars, dates, slightly dank and musty, light oxidisation.
Taste comprises mellow vanilla notes, dark fruits, tobacco, dates, prunes, sugars, leather, nutty tones.
Medium bodied, soft carbonation, smooth on the palate.
This has held up really well some 11 years on - pleasing as I’ve had some duds from the older vintages in the past. rlgk (18850) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - JAN 4, 2005
Amber with an offwhite head. Aroma is great from exotic fruits, a clear maltiness with vanilla and actually some strawberries. Nutty notes and some almond. Flavor is malty, but I find the alcohol too strong to rate this a top beer. harrisoni (18578) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - SEP 11, 2006
Bottle at Kookfest 06. Hazy, some floaters, lasting beige head. Nutty, vanilla, less intense hop than the others I tried. Bit more rounded perhaps. Again good hop on the end. Not as a big a fan as the 2000 or 2001

Bright amber; chewy, malty, earthy, touch of hop. Like the others, but with youth on its side compared with the usual year or two that most people put on these before they drink them. TBone (17544) - Pori, FINLAND - APR 4, 2004

Reddish color, small firm off-white head. Sweet portwine aroma - very developed. Sweet and roasted taste: coffee and alcohol. Very drinkable.
Bottle, 55cl. Bottle # 23378. A lightly unclear one, copper to amber in color and with a minimal sized beige head. Just a layer of bubbles actually. The aroma has caramel, hints of camphor, some oxidation, dried fruits and notes of sherry. It’s warming and lightly bitter on the palate, full-bodied, and with flavors of caramel, beef stock and some oxidation. Lasting finish with caramel, oxidation and some bitterness. A bit dull maybe, but not bad considering it’s nearly ten years old. 120106 Dedollewaitor (16159) - Odense, DENMARK - MAY 20, 2008
Bottle at Aarhus Beerfestival. Pours hzay deep golden amber with a small off white head. Aroma is dark fruits - pruner/plums, caramel, vinous/port. Very complex. Low to no carbonation left. Smooth, round , creamy& filling palate. Sticky... long end! Thank god! FatPhil (16102) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - SEP 27, 2009

Dry raisiny and nutty aroma. Pleasant carbonation. Yeast mellows the taste we found - so do add some. Very dry malty body. Hops again dry and biting. Lovely raisins in the finish. Beautiful sipper.
