500 ml. brown bottle. Part of a vertical tasting held for my close friends. Poured out a deep amber color, with orange highlights. Small tan head fades quickly. Aromas are of rum soaked dried fruit, orange jam, some earthy hops. Flavors are of orange jam, rum soaked raisins, strong malts. Thick mouthfeel, rich & chewy. Finished slightly dry, but really good overall. RobBestwick (972) - Calgary, Alberta, CANADA - JAN 4, 2004
rich and fruity aroma, pours with a deep bronze/copper hue and an off white head, strong fruitcake and alcohol flavour, treacle like in texture, this is similar to "1845", obviously though it has not had time to mature yet. MrWalker (926) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - SEP 23, 2004
Bottle @ Akkurat, Stockholm. Vertical tasting -97, -00, 02 and -03 with official representatives from the brewery. 3rd one ever held by Fuller’s nigos (631) - Ipswich, Suffolk, ENGLAND - AUG 26, 2005
Feels a bit young and undelveloped. Rich in appely tastes - both the green variety and red winter apples. Not bad, but to much alcohol taste to it still. Will most likely develop.
Tasted: Jan 2005 - Bottle No. 54315. Deep mahogany hue with a decent off white head. Pronounced fruity aroma with hints of fig. Rich sweetish flavour with a sappy raisiny fruit body. A little too early to drink I feel. Need more age to get the best of those complex flavours. fro2218 (471) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - OCT 3, 2007
Sampled in 2006. Amber red in color. Caramel, apples, a little tartness. Some grassy hops.
