(Bottle 91879) Very large beige head atop a crystal clear amber body. Aroma is moderately sweet, caramel, bready, some earthy, vanilla, light herbal. Taste is moderately sweet, caramel, vanilla, alcohol, light raisin, toffee, minimal bitterness. Finishes with moderate alcohol. Watery medium-full body. Too much alcohol presence, and in my opinion, definitely a notch below earlier vintages I have tried (99-01). Drake (14078) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 2, 2014
Bottle shared at the 9th Richmond Rare & Unusual Epic Tasting, Richmond, VA, 11/30/14. Pours a hazy amber with a thin head. Poor head retention. Aroma of toffee, raisin, mild hops. The taste is toffee, earth, caramel, dark fruits. Medium bodied, low carbonation, some oxidation but held up very nicely for a decade old. Christian (13823) - Odense, DENMARK - JAN 3, 2009
Bottle # 2177. Slightly hazy amber with a firm and lasting off-white head. Aroma has rich malt and marmalade with aged notes of sherry, port and prunes. Dry and malty with crisp biscuit flavour, balanced by quite some bitterness and a vineous note. I was afraid if I had stored it well enough, but that was certainly not an issue.
