Bottle conditioned.
Ingredients: Floor malted Optic malt; Fuggles and Super Styrian hops.
Edition of 100,000
This full-bodied vintage is brewed with Fuggles and Super Styrian hops that create a tapestry of rich, spicy flavours. Orange, citrus and fruitcake notes are all present, and are balanced well with the biscuity, creamy malt flavours leaving a soft and warming finish.

Aroma is heavy on raisins and figs. Whilst pouring this brew developed a foamy eggshell head which has receded to just a bubbly layer on top of the beer. Taste is spice and raisins with a long warming finish. I felt that this vintage lacks the Orange and citrus characteristics but that’s perhaps what 8 years does to this beer, its a good one nonetheless - especially to sip on a cold evening.

UPDATED: APR 7, 2017 Bottle from Sainsbury’s. 2006: Drank 2017-04-07: Hazy brown-red with cherry, currant and dried fruit flavours followed by a warming cheery and spicy, oak and fruity finish. Still very good; 2006: Drank 2016-09-23, aged for 10 years. Dark copper coloured with a thin white head. Rich red fruit and slight soapy and perfume flavours followed by currants and dried fruit on the finish. Good but probably past it’s best; 2006: Drank 2014-10-04, aged for 8 years. Dark brown-ruby red coloured with spicy rich currants, liquorice and red fruity flavours followed by a smooth, creamy burnt toffee and a slight tart ‘aged’ finish.

- 500ml bottle - Colour: brown with a creamy head - Head: thick creamy when poured which reduces as drank - Aroma: sweet, mantle and strong alcohol scent - Taste & Texture: smooth, bitter, caramelly with a strong alcohol aftertaste - Verdict: very enjoyable, would drink a few, but dangerously high in alcohol content!! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Courtesy of Garthicus. Reddish brown pour with a thin off-white head. Very Trappiste Ale like. Vinous, strong malty caramel backbone, redcurrants, booze, earthy, woodchip, slight clove and nutmeg, hints of tangerine peel. Smooth on the palate and full bodied. This is the only Fuller’s Vintage Ale I have tried and it’s extremely good.
